JOB SUMMARY
The Digital Marketing Specialist supports the Senior Digital Manager and the VP of Digital Marketing in our day-to-day digital operations. This role maintains and updates Affinity-affiliated websites; builds and optimizes Google Business Profiles and directory listings to strengthen clinic visibility across AI assistants and AI-driven search, publishes content and structured data, and manages the digital marketing ticket queue to resolve clinic requests, issues, and reporting needs. The ideal candidate maintains a high degree of accuracy across a large multi-location portfolio, demonstrates consistent follow-through and ownership of assigned work, and is eager to build expertise in a rapidly evolving search landscape while constantly pushing the boundaries of digital marketing and helping us reach new heights in the veterinary industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Carry out the AI searchability improvements set by the Senior Digital Manager and VP of Digital Marketing: publishing content structured to answer real pet owner questions, adding and correcting schema markup, cleaning up on-page details, and keeping service, provider, and hours information identical everywhere AI tools read it.
- Build out and maintain Google Business Profiles and directory listings for every location in our listing management system Yext so every clinic is complete, accurate, and easy for AI assistants and local search to surface.
- Work the digital marketing ticket system daily: intake, triage, and resolve clinic requests, issues, and reporting needs; keep requesters updated, escalate what needs the Senior Digital Manager, and close the loop so nothing sits.
- Execute website updates across Affinity’s affiliated sites, service and provider pages, hours, promotions, landing pages, and new clinic pages, ensuring each one is accurate, brand-consistent, and LLM search-readable.
- Support paid media execution across Yelp, Reddit, and Meta ads, and Google Ads building and editing campaigns, writing and loading ad copy and assets, checking budget pacing, and consistently managing campaign performance
- Partner with clinic teams to plan, source, and publish blog content that answers real pet owner questions, building the topical authority and credible source material that AI assistants and search engines draw from when recommending veterinary care.
- Distribute and schedule local content through our centralized platforms (Yext, Semrush, HubSpot) and confirm it is published correctly across all clinics.
- Monitor reviews and clinic content across Google, Yelp, and other platforms; route items that need a clinic response, help teams respond well, and flag patterns.
- Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for our outside vendors and platform partners, including HubSpot, Meta, Google, and Yext, coordinating support requests and troubleshooting, staying current on new features and beta opportunities, and making sure our accounts, integrations, and data feeds are configured and working as intended.
- Run the digital checklist for new clinic launches: listings created and verified, website pages live, tracking in place, and campaigns launched on schedule.
- Pull and distribute recurring performance reporting for clinics and leadership, keep dashboards current, and flag anomalies rather than waiting to be asked about them.
- Help manage content scheduling and posting for organic and paid social media across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Support email marketing initiatives: build and segment lists, create campaign flows, schedule sends, and track performance metrics in HubSpot.
- Keep documentation current: process steps, trackers, and clinic-facing how-to materials so the work is repeatable and clinics can self-serve where possible.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, especially changes in how AI assistants and search engines surface local businesses and bring recommendations forward.
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, a related field or equivalent hands-on marketing experience (2–4 years).
- Proven experience executing digital marketing work, website and content updates, listings management, paid search or paid social, or email marketing.
- Comfortable working in a website CMS and making content and on-page changes without waiting on a developer. Basic coding/HTML skills is a plus
- Experience managing business listings or Google Business Profiles, ideally for multiple locations; familiarity with a listings platform such as Yext is a plus.
- Interest in and basic understanding of how AI assistants and AI search surface local businesses, and a willingness to learn fast in a space that changes month to month.
- Experience working a ticket system, help desk, or shared request inbox, with strong follow-through and the patience to support clinic teams with a wide range of technical comfort.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Business Suite, HubSpot, SEMrush) and basic analytics (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker Studio, social media insights).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle many small tasks accurately across dozens of locations and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter who is detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- A passion for pets and people, creative problem-solving, and continuous learning.
- Ability to present results and initiatives to Affinity executives.
