Computer Aided Design Technician

At Civil Science, you’ll collaborate with an experienced team of Project Managers, Professional Land Surveyors, Engineers, and Survey Crew Chiefs to support exciting, large-scale projects that shape communities. From land development and infrastructure to transportation and municipal utilities, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming innovative ideas into reality.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate on projects to create legal boundaries, descriptions, and plat maps.
  • Process survey data from cutting-edge technologies like GPS and LiDAR to develop topographic maps.
  • Prepare construction staking calculations for survey crews using AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Contribute to a variety of projects, including land development, infrastructure design, and transportation systems

 

What We’re Looking For:

We’re searching for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, self-directed environment and brings a strong technical skill set to the table. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D, including the ability to:
    • Process survey data and create topographic models/surfaces.
    • Plot legal descriptions and boundaries for plat maps, ALTA surveys, and other legal instruments.
    • Develop alignments, corridors, pipe networks, and 3D terrain models for survey and construction tasks.
  • Experience with survey data collection methods and an understanding of LiDAR data post-processing (a plus).
  • Knowledge of construction plans and an ability to prepare data for survey/construction staking.
  • 2+ years of CAD experience in survey or civil engineering projects related to land development, municipal utilities, or transportation.
  • Strong multitasking skills and a genuine eagerness to learn and grow.
