Senior Software Engineer

Working on the Student Experience Team, this engineer will be a key member of the team tasked with building and maintaining Civitas’ student-facing applications. Engineers on the Student Experience Team are expected to not just think in terms of code, but how their work can best help Civitas’ customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain focused, scalable web applications from the browser through backend microservices and all the way to the database layer.
• Ability to perform both new feature development and maintenance on all Civitas products
• Ability to work across multiple products and engineering teams to resolve customer issues
• Enhance our existing products to meet our customer needs and assist other team members in doing the same.
• Lead other talented engineers in software engineering design and best practices with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years of software engineering
• Experience in designing, building, and debugging RESTful, multi-tenant services
• Experience in designing, debugging, and building modern web applications
• Must have expertise in some of the following:
• JavaScript/Typescript/React
• RDBMS (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, etc.), being proficient with SQL
• Java
• C#
• Intermediate English reading level

Experience with some of the following is a huge bonus:

• AWS
