Capital Markets Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Capital Markets Associate to join our dynamic finance team. Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will support Clara's fundraising efforts, optimize our capital structure, and contribute to key financial initiatives. We are open to working locations in Mexico City, São Paulo, or remote.

Responsibilities
- Debt Financing
- Support the structuring, negotiation, and execution of debt facilities, including asset-backed financing, venture debt, and revolving credit lines.
- Build and maintain financial models to evaluate funding alternatives, forecast cash flows, and assess cost of capital.
- Analyze portfolio performance and concentration risks to align funding decisions with growth objectives.
- Investor Relations
- Maintain relationships with existing lenders and develop materials for ongoing communication, including covenant reporting and portfolio updates.
- Assist in preparing pitch materials, financial projections, investor updates, and other documentation for both existing and prospective equity investors.
- Market Intelligence
- Conduct market research to benchmark Clara's debt terms against industry peers and identify innovative financing structures.
- Monitor macro trends, interest rates, and capital market developments to inform financing strategies.
- Strategic Finance
- Collaborate with the finance team to evaluate funding options for new geographies and credit products.
- Support ad hoc corporate finance projects, including regulatory compliance, tax optimization, and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, or buyside investing roles. Startup experience is also a plus.
- Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with strong interpersonal, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with debt instruments, credit analysis, and asset-backed financing structures.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience preparing materials for executive-level audiences.
- Bilingual proficiency in English as well as Spanish or Portuguese is required.
