What you'll do
We're looking for an Account Executive - Fuel & Fleet specialized in fuel and fleet solutions to lead the commercial growth of Clara Combustible in Mexico. This role blends business development, direct sales, and product strategy — you're not just closing deals, you're helping shape how Clara wins in this vertical.
You'll target companies with meaningful vehicle fleets across logistics, distribution, construction, field services, and beyond. Your buyers are Fleet Managers, Operations Directors, CFOs, and Procurement leaders — and you'll serve as both a trusted sales executive and a fleet industry expert. This is a mid-market to enterprise role with real ground-floor ownership: one of the first dedicated Fleet AEs at Clara.
-
Lead the go-to-market motion for Clara Combustible in Mexico, targeting companies with fleet operations and identifying the highest-potential segments and accounts.
-
Own the full sales cycle — from prospecting and first outreach to contract signature — managing a robust pipeline in HubSpot with rigorous forecasting and deal hygiene.
-
Lead consultative conversations with Fleet Managers, Operations Directors, and Finance leaders, diagnosing inefficiencies in how they currently manage fuel, maintenance, and fleet-related expenses.
-
Position Clara Combustible against incumbent fuel card and manual expense solutions, with a clear value proposition around visibility, control, and cost reduction.
-
Act as the product expert on the ground: gather and relay customer insights via Slack and Google Drive to Product and Tech teams to continuously improve Clara Combustible based on real market feedback.
-
Serve as a fleet consultant for clients during implementation and early adoption, ensuring they get value from the product quickly.
-
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships within the fuel and mobility industry — suppliers, fleet operators, and industry networks.
-
Monitor market trends and competitor strategies to inform Clara's positioning, pricing, and product roadmap in the fleet space.
-
Contribute to building the Fleet playbook — document what works, share learnings with the commercial team, and help refine ICP and messaging as we scale.
Who you are
We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Must haves
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B sales (per Clara's mid-market seniority baseline), with 3+ years specifically focused within fleet, fuel, fintech, or payments.
-
Proven experience in the fuel payment and fleet management industry — background at fuel card providers, oil company B2B programs, or fleet expense platforms is highly valued.
-
Deep understanding of the corporate fleet ecosystem: fuel management, maintenance cycles, driver expense controls, toll management, and supplier relationships.
-
Strong hunter profile with a track record of driving direct sales and closing net-new accounts.
-
Strategic and consultative mindset — you diagnose before you pitch, and you know how to build a business case for an Operations or Finance buyer.
-
Comfortable being a builder: this vertical is new and the playbook is still being written.
-
Experience or interest in AI tools to automate workflows and optimize prospecting.
-
Excellent verbal and written communication.
-
Adaptability to fast-changing environments and a proven track record of execution.
Nice to haves
-
Experience with telematics or fleet management platforms (Samsara, Geotab, or similar).
-
Independent analytical skills using spreadsheets, SQL, or Python to build cost-savings models for fleet buyers.
-
Basic proficiency in Portuguese or a desire to learn it.
-
A good sense of humor.

Clara’s Hybrid Policy
Claridians in a hybrid mode split their time between working from the office, talking to or visiting customers, or working from home. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for each individual and team.
We don't enforce a minimum number of days for most roles, but you're expected to spend time at the office organically, and be at the office most days during your ramp-up or when required by your leader.
