Mechanical Engineer (Internship) - Summer 2025

Clean Crop Technologies, Inc. (“Clean Crop”) stops crop loss at the source, removing pathogens from seeds before they are planted, increasing yields, reducing in-field waste, and improving food safety. Clean Crop’s Clean Current technology combines electricity and food-grade gases to create cold plasma, inactivating a broad spectrum of contaminants from seed surfaces in a dry, automated, and residue-free process. - Design key components and systems to be used in upcoming prototypes or related R&D facilities.
- Work with fabrication team to cut, print and assemble any relevant components
- Manage CAD designs, FEA and support design leads on BOM, inventory and procurements related to upcoming builds
- Conduct independent research projects related to sub-assembly optimization and origination of key product requirements.
- Procurement management for product team – ensure short lead-times, competitive bids and work flows are managed on a daily, weekly and long-term basis.
- Provide strategic and creative solutions to the product development team.
- Support the upkeep and management of workshop and fabrication space.
- Provide support to operation team on various procurements, inventory mgmt. and cost saving within R&D.
- Ensure all facilities meet company protocols for worker safety and quality control during prototype design and builds
Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Electrical Engineering, or Physics
- Fluent or high aptitude for CAD/CAM design software (Autodesk, Solidworks preferred)
- Demonstrated strong mechanical and problem-solving skills and ability to design mechanical components that meet required specifications.
- Proficient in MS Office solutions and comfortable presenting data, and technical review docs during meetings with internal & external parties.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Hard working, goal oriented, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast pace work environment
- Creative, problem solving mindset – outspoken team player
- Must be able to lift boxes and materials up to 50lbs
- Valid drivers license preferred
