Cleared On-Site Front-End Data Developer (4241)

SMX is seeking a creative and skilled Front-End Data Developer to join our team. This role focuses on building intuitive and visually compelling data visualization tools and user interfaces that enable actionable insights. The ideal candidate will work closely with data analysts, engineers, and clients to understand requirements and translate them into meaningful, interactive solutions. This is a full-time position requiring on-site work five days a week at a client’s office in Washington, D.C. An active Top Secret clearance is mandatory. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Design and develop dynamic, user-friendly dashboards, reports, and data visualization tools using technologies like MicroStrategy, ThoughtSpot, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their questions, challenges, and objectives, translating them into impactful visual solutions.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to client inquiries, providing data-driven insights and iterating on visualizations to meet evolving needs.
  • Create and maintain front-end interfaces that seamlessly interact with back-end data services and APIs.
  • Ensure user interfaces are optimized for performance, accessibility, and usability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data visualization and user interfaces.
  • Implement best practices for front-end development, including responsive design and performance optimization.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to enhance user experience and streamline workflows.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in front-end development and data visualization.

Required Skills:  

  • Strong knowledge of data visualization tools, including MicroStrategy, ThoughtSpot, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Proven ability to interpret client requirements and translate complex data into clear, actionable visualizations.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for front-end development.
  • Familiarity with data query languages such as SQL.
  • Understanding of data visualization principles and the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Experience integrating front-end solutions with back-end APIs and services.
  • A keen eye for design and detail to ensure polished and user-friendly deliverables.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Analytics.
  • Active Top-Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • 2+ years' experience working as a data analyst
  • Experience with modern frameworks or libraries such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications. The proposed salary for this position is:

$95,500 - $159,200 USD
