About the Opportunity

We’re looking for a Manager, Growth & Customer Marketing to lead a team of two and own ClearGov’s full-funnel growth motion — from a prospect’s first touch through expansion revenue with existing customers. You’ll manage and develop a team of two: one teammate focused on inbound (SEO/AEO) and net-new ABM/ABX campaigns, the other on customer marketing for cross-sell and upsell. You inherit both with real runway to grow in scope and title as the team’s results build.

This is a player-coach role. You’ll set the strategy, coach your team, and own the numbers — while staying hands-on with the highest-leverage campaigns and content yourself.

We need someone who is AI-forward by default: you use AI tools to move faster on content, targeting, SEO/AEO research, and reporting as a matter of course, and you build that habit into how your team works, not just how you work. You’re proactive — you spot the SEO gap, the underperforming segment, or the expansion signal in the data before anyone points it out, and you act on it.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Hire (as needed), coach, and manage a team of 2 marketers — one owning acquisition (inbound/SEO/AEO, ABM/ABX), one owning customer marketing (cross-sell/upsell) — with regular 1:1s, clear goals, and a development plan that gives each a real path to grow.
  • Set quarterly growth marketing strategy and OKRs spanning net-new pipeline and expansion revenue; report results to marketing leadership.
  • Operate as a player-coach: personally lead ClearGov’s highest-priority campaigns and strategic accounts while delegating day-to-day execution to your team.
  • Proactively surface and act on growth opportunities across the funnel — SEO/AEO gaps, underperforming ABM segments, expansion or churn-risk signals in customer health data — rather than waiting for them to be flagged.

Acquisition & Demand Generation

  • Own ClearGov’s inbound strategy — SEO and AEO (optimizing for AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews, in addition to traditional search) — to grow organic visibility and traffic.
  • Build and run ABM/ABX programs for net-new prospects, coordinating email, webinars, social, and content into unified account-based campaigns.
  • Partner with Sales to align target account lists, campaign timing, and lead hand-off criteria for ABM-sourced pipeline.

Customer Marketing

  • Own the full post-sale marketing motion — customer touchpoints (newsletter, product launch announcements, webinars), in-app announcements, and expansion/cross-sell campaigns from audience segmentation through performance measurement.
  • Build and manage ClearGov’s customer reference and advocacy program; lead the creation of case studies, video testimonials, and social proof.
  • Track and report on expansion campaign performance — influenced pipeline, conversion rates, and contribution to upsell/cross-sell revenue.

AI & Ways of Working

  • Use AI tools daily to speed up content production, campaign personalization, SEO/AEO research, and reporting — and build this into how your team operates, not just how you work individually.
  • Bring a testing mindset: run experiments across channels and let data decide what gets more investment.

Critical Skills/Experience:

  • 5–7+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, including 1–2+ years directly managing people — this is a people-management role from day one, not a step toward one.
  • Full-funnel growth marketing experience with a track record you can show numbers for — growing net-new pipeline (SEO/AEO, ABM/ABX, demand gen) and growing expansion revenue (NRR, cross-sell/upsell).
  • Hands-on SEO experience and working knowledge of AEO/answer-engine optimization — how content gets discovered by both traditional search and AI answer engines.
  • Experience building and running ABM/ABX programs across email, webinars, and social; familiarity with intent/ABM platforms (6sense, Demandbase, or similar) a plus.
  • Demonstrated, regular use of AI tools in a marketing workflow — content generation, personalization, research, or reporting — not just occasional experimentation.
  • Hands-on proficiency with a marketing automation platform (Marketo, HubSpot, or similar) and comfort using CRM data (Salesforce preferred) to segment audiences and measure performance.
  • Strong content and storytelling skills across formats — case studies, campaign copy, webinar scripts, video.
  • Experience in a SaaS environment; GovTech or public sector experience is a plus, but not required.

Compensation:

  • In the spirit of transparency, we are excited to share the base salary for this position is $155,000 - $185,000 USD or $130,000 - $155,000 CAD, and exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at ClearGov, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors such as skills, interview performance, education and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary for the role. Hiring beyond the base range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package (more information on benefits listed below).

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
