The Penny Hoarder - SMS & Email Marketing Coordinator

Draper, Utah, United States

Who We're Looking For - The Penny Hoarder Email & SMS Marketing Coordinator

Are you a marketer with an ability to create engaging content for target audiences in the email and SMS channels? Do you have experience managing the day-to-day operations of high-volume email campaigns in a content marketing environment? Are you able to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks efficiently? If so, the Email and SMS Marketing Coordinator position at The Penny Hoarder, a leading website in the personal finance space, may be the role for you!

The Email and SMS Marketing Coordinator oversees the daily execution of our email and SMS strategy and calendar. This role will call upon direct experience with messaging platforms and content planning for email and SMS channels. While this role is primarily responsible for tactical execution, you will also work closely with the Email and SMS Marketing Manager or Director of Owned Audiences to steer the strategic direction of the program.

While knowledge of email marketing is a must, and knowing how to operate email databases and plan campaigns is essential, this role begins as an individual contributor role within the department structure. There is great opportunity for career development with this role, and the ideal candidate will display a desire to grow into a full-blown channel manager.

The Impact You Will Make

Primary duties include:

  • Campaign planning
    • With input from the team and best available data, build and maintain an email and SMS campaign calendar including all daily newsletters, triggered journeys, sponsored emails, and other campaigns

    • Collaborate with designers or use design tools to create email graphics
    • Assist leadership in creating content to acquire new subscribers
  • Campaign execution
    • Schedule, QA, and send all emails and SMS in our messaging platform

  • Content optimization
    • Assist leadership in designing and executing A/B tests to optimize email content

We are open to remote candidates who are willing to work East Coast (EST) hours.

  • Some performance metrics related to campaigns you can walk us through in terms of how you used data to learn and improve over time.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
