The Role:

As a FIX Onboarding Engineer and Application Support at Clear Street, you'll be part of a tight knit and expanding team of engineers working hand in glove with sales & trading desks along with software engineers providing end to end FIX onboarding and support across front, middle and back office systems across the firm. This role will likely appeal to technically minded members of support and onboarding  teams who want the freedom to dig deeper into issues and code and the challenge of making impactful improvements.

You Will:

  • Your responsibility will be to provide high touch user support to sales and trading desks across all major EMEA and US markets.
  • Onboard FIX clients across all asset classes.
  • Support trading platforms on different OS environments – high/low touch trading, algorithmic trading, exchange/FIX connectivity, middle office bookings etc. 
  • Trading systems configuration management across production and UAT environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to dive deep into analysing application logs, code base, OS and Network to provide root cause analysis of problems and workarounds.
  • Champion automation of repetitive tasks as well as identifying potential areas of automation/process improvement.
  • Development of scripts, SQL and application changes.
  • Liaise with multiple internal teams across Clear Street and occasionally clients and vendors. 
  • In this role you will be required to work to a flexible work schedule which also includes weekend and evening duties.
  • Strong attention to detail and desire to deliver a high quality service.
  • Ability to deal with multiple tasks and knowing how to prioritise them.

Requirements:

  • At least five (5) years of professional experience working in a high pressure environment, preferably in front office application support and delivering to tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience on client onboarding and supporting vendor platforms such as Fidessa, UL and TT and good knowledge of Equities, Futures, Commodities and FX asset classes are essential.
  • Experience with transfer protocols for financial data (FIX, native protocols).
  • Experience using at least one of the following: PowerShell, Python, Bash, Shell 
  • Great experience working with relational and non-relational databases. Ability to query and explore data is a must.
  • Knowledge of execution feeds, market data handlers, algorithmic trading is an advantage.
