The Role:
Clear Street is seeking an equity research associate to join our dynamic equity research team covering Fintech companies. The associate will support the Fintech team covering a wide spectrum of Fintech sub-verticals including payments crypto/blockchain/Web3/tokenization, information services and software, and exchanges/brokers.
The associate is a highly motivated individual who enjoys equity investing and capital markets. Research is a fast-paced environment, strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity and forward thinking are critical. The individual will become an industry expert conducting company and industry analysis. It involves monitoring company/industry news, dissecting earnings releases, updating financial models, analyzing industry data, writing research notes, articulating investment ideas to sales and traders, and meeting client requests.
Responsibilities:
- Build, develop and utilize financial models to forecast a company’s financials.
- Write company and sector research notes, and articulate the view to internal and external clients
- Build and maintain relationships with Sales and Trading, industry experts and management team
- Keep senior analysts informed of significant daily news and market developments.
- Perform competitive analysis, industry tracking and valuation to form an opinion and support stock recommendations
- Generate ideas for differentiated products.
- Be a team player.
- Occasional travel may be required
Qualifications & Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:
- At least three (3) years of professional experience of fundamental equity research; exposure in Fintech preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree. Master/MBA is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge in financial statements analysis and financial modeling skills
- FINRA SIE, Series 63, Series 86, and Series 87 licenses required.
- High level of financial modelling skills in Excel and PowerPoint, skilled in building and updating financial models and projections.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication capabilities to articulate ideas and investment theses.
- Exhibits a strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and both critical and creative thinking abilities.
- Able to excel in a dynamic, high-pressure, and deadline-oriented setting.
- Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Ability to multi-task and collaborate with teammates, as well as work independently.
- Passion in equity investing.
We offer:
The base salary range for this role is $100,000-150,000. The range is representative of the starting base salary for this role at Clear Street. Which range a candidate fits into and where a candidate falls in the range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. These ranges represent Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The ranges stated do not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.
