
Data Engineer (Azure)
We are looking for a Semi-Senior Data Engineer to join our team and support client data initiatives through the
creation of robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines, data models, and Power BI dashboards. This role
involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, scientists, and business
stakeholders, to translate business needs into actionable technical solutions.
You will be contributing to a Managed Services environment supporting all data and digital products for one of our
key clients, ensuring operational excellence, continuous improvement, and delivery consistency across their
analytics ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Create and optimize stored procedures, views, and functions in SQL Server or other relational databases
• Design and build data models (e.g., star, snowflake schemas) for analytics and reporting
• Develop and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, including DAX measures, calculated columns, and
custom tables
• Extract and integrate data from various sources such as SQL databases, Excel files, APIs, and cloud
platforms
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across systems and processes
• Leverage existing data structures to promote reuse and efficiency
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows and pipeline performance
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to data engineering best practices
• Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend processes or tool improvements
Requirements:
• +3 years of experience in data engineering or a related field
• Strong SQL skills with experience writing and optimizing complex queries
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), including data flow and pipeline orchestration
• Experience working with SQL Server or equivalent RDBMS
• Familiarity with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts
• Understanding of Power BI or other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
• Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Demonstrated behavioral traits: analytical thinking, proactive attitude, team collaboration, and
adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Hands-on experience developing in Power BI (DAX, visuals, data model optimization)
• Exposure to additional Azure services: Azure Synapse, Data Lake, Azure Functions
• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools, such as Azure DevOps and Git
• Understanding data governance, access control, and security best practices.
