Senior Implementation Project Manager
Overview
Join our Cleartrace team! We are a remote-first climate SaaS startup based in Austin, TX with a mission to help companies proactively decarbonize their energy consumption. Cleartrace enables companies to stand behind their carbon reduction, sustainability, and renewable energy claims to provide a source of unified, auditable truth for enterprises and investors.
We’re looking for a customer-friendly Senior Implementation Project Manager (IM) to be part of the Customer Success team and to be responsible for overseeing implementations from contract close through service launch, working in tandem with other amazing team members from across the organization including data operations, commercial, and product.
As the Senior IM, you will primarily work on software implementations and coordinating customer deliverables. You will use your skills to translate what can often be highly ambiguous customer needs into Cleartace solutions and technical strategy that yields business results and meets the customers’ needs. You will engage with varying levels of customers throughout the implementation. You are an expert in solutions and have broad knowledge, enabling them to scope solutions, estimate timelines, set customer expectations, and build architectures and plans.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing relationships across functional areas and managing B2B implementations, along with working in a startup environment, familiarity with energy data and climate tech, and a proven track record of meeting program goals.
About The Role / Responsibilities:
The Senior Implementation Project Manager (IM) leads multiple, concurrent implementation projects that vary in size and scope, and is responsible for:
- Leading deep discovery conversations with customers, potentially alongside a commercial or customer success team mate, to understand their business and processes and designing a solution based on customers’ technical requirements and goals.
- Overseeing the execution of the solution (including technical setup, testing, change management, solution adoption) and delivery quality, to be sure we deliver on our customer commitments.
- Effectively communicating proposed solutions, project updates, and risks to customer stakeholders and internally with Cleartrace.
- Assess program risks, anticipate challenges, and provide escalation management when necessary.
- Meeting or exceeding targets for customer and/or feature adoption in tandem with customer success and commercial team.
- Comfortably communicating on technical subject matter including integrations, data analysis, and product features. Other team members will be responsible for the actual integration, data, and product development work; however, the project manager needs to understand, at a high-level, how technical areas are functioning.
About You / Qualifications:
- Proven experience in relevant project management, preferably in B2B software implementation in this industry
- Experience translating customer needs into business requirements
- Solid track record of leading projects to desirable outcomes including on-time delivery and complete customer satisfaction with a focus on commercial goals, business acumen and sensitivities
- Propensity for keeping all materials including notes, project plans, calendar invites, and Google drives organized and easy to navigate
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities including eliminating blockers and issues as and when they arise on projects and within the team
- Exceptional communication skills including being able to concisely and effectively tailor messaging to the audience (team members, customers, peers, and executives)
- Interest in data and the ability data to drive decision making
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience influencing at all levels within an organization, particularly at the executive level
- Passionate about climate tech and making an impact on climate change
- A love for startup culture and thrive in a sometimes ambiguous and quickly changing environment
- Experience in B2B utility industry management
- 2+ years of climate management (carbon accounting, decarbonization, renewable energy) or similar experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Sustainability or related field
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PMI, or CAPM
If you’ve gotten to this point, we hope you’re feeling excited about the possibility of joining our team! Even if you don’t feel that you meet every single requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
