POSITION SUMMARY 

The Account Manager serves as the primary relationship leader for an assigned portfolio of clients. This individual is responsible for renewals, client satisfaction, and expansion, ensuring clients receive strong value and support throughout their engagement with Clearwater.

This role requires excellent relationship-building skills, structured renewal planning, disciplined forecasting, and the ability to identify and qualify expansion opportunities related to cybersecurity maturity and compliance needs. The Account Manager partners closely with Delivery, Solutions Architecture, and Sales Executives to ensure client success and consistent revenue performance.

This is a strategic role centered on client partnership, proactive account management, and value realization, ensuring Clearwater remains a trusted and long-term partner.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

Client Relationship & Retention

  • Serve as primary client point of contact across assigned accounts
  • Lead renewal cycles, including early risk identification and executive communication
  • Maintain client health, value delivery cadence, and partner satisfaction
  • Conduct roadmap meetings and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs)
  • Ensure proactive planning and alignment with client strategic goals

Expansion & Commercial Growth

  • Identify and qualify expansion opportunities tied to client needs and maturity goals across Clearwater’s full portfolio: Managed services (e.g., Managed Security Services, Cloud Managed Services, ClearAdvantage, ClearConfidence) and IRM|Pro® platform offerings

Advisory, Assessment, and Compliance Services

  • Build and manage an expansion pipeline aligned with security programs, IRM|Pro, and managed services
  • Collaborate with AEs, Consulting and/or Solutions Architects to scope and present recommendations
  • Track expansion activity and engage the client executive sponsors to advance conversations

Revenue Forecasting & Execution

  • Maintain accurate forecasts for renewals and expansion opportunities
  • Ensure CRM hygiene and documentation in Salesforce
  • Track account plans, timelines, risks, and client value milestones
  • Report renewal and pipeline status with consistency and transparency
  • Ensure CRM hygiene and disciplined use of Clearwater forecasting standards

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Delivery leaders to align on client goals and ensure seamless execution
  • Coordinate with Product and Platform teams to relay client needs and feedback
  • Support internal collaboration to deliver high-quality, measurable outcomes

 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED  

  • 5+ years in account management or client success roles
  • Experience working in cybersecurity, risk management, healthcare IT, or compliance strongly preferred
  • Experience with Managed Security Services or Cloud services preferred
  • Demonstrated success in renewal execution and expansion achievement
  • Comfortable engaging executives and guiding strategic discussions
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of cybersecurity and healthcare compliance frameworks (NIST, HIPAA, HITRUST) preferred; willingness to learn required
  • Experience excelling in a growing organization

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EXPECTATIONS  

  • Participate in training programs focused on account management, client engagement, and consultative selling. 
  • Develop deeper knowledge of Clearwater solutions, delivery methodologies, and industry landscape. 
  • Attend relevant industry events, webinars, and conferences. 
  • Engage in coaching and mentorship programs to strengthen account management and client relationship skills. 
  • Build capabilities in strategic thinking, negotiation, and value-based communication. 

The base salary range for this role is $110,000-140,000. Base salary is part of our total rewards package which also includes the opportunity for merit-based salary increases, eligibility for our 401(k) plan, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances and leaves provided in line with your work state. Our robust time-off policy includes flexible paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and paid sick time. Total compensation, including base salary to be offered, will depend on elements unique to each candidate, including applicable candidate experience, skills, education and other factors permitted by law.
