About the Role:

We are looking for a Director of Marketing to oversee the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance brand awareness, drive demand, generate leads, engage and retain members, and promote overall revenue growth. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this position will be responsible for leading and developing the company’s brand strategy, marketing programs, and marketing team to achieve measurable results across the business.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Define and lead the overall marketing strategy to achieve the business’s revenue growth, customer acquisition, customer retention, and brand development goals. 
  • Oversee the creation and execution of a content strategy that articulates Clearwater’s brand narrative, engages multiple target audiences, and powers the marketing and sales channels in the customer journey. 
  • Leverage customer insights to drive targeted marketing efforts, ensuring campaigns resonate with our different audience segments.
  • Lead performance-driven marketing initiatives that generate qualified sales leads, nurture prospects, convert prospects into customers with positive ROI, and continue to engage customers to promote retention and grow lifetime value. 
  • Oversee the paid media strategy and budget. Communicate with external agencies, associations, affiliates, and influencers for program activation while actively developing and managing those relationships.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to create demand-generation programs, offering input on audience targeting, messaging, and content in line with brand standards and performance metrics.
  • Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of all marketing initiatives, and provide regular reports and insights to senior leadership.
  • Launch a new cross-functional planning process for 2025, collaborating with leadership, product, tech, sales, operations, customer service, and finance stakeholders to establish marketing objectives, develop marketing strategy, and identify communications needs, ultimately creating a cross-functional marketing project plan.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, collaborative marketing team.

Key Competencies:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience required with 5+ years in a leadership role focused on revenue generation and people management.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience. An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience in planning and executing SEO, public relations, social media, influencer, affiliate, email marketing, and paid media campaigns.
  • Proficient in creating and sustaining a brand narrative that engages and inspires both external and internal audiences. This includes articulating the brand through strategic content development that supports the full marketing funnel.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a startup or agile environment. Must be flexible and willing to adjust the approach based on the needs of the business.
  • Experience with marketing automation tools and CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot) and advertising platforms (Google, Meta, LinkedIn) is required.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a proven track record of motivating direct reports and effectively managing cross-functional stakeholders. Experience in building and scaling a start-up marketing team is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in understanding customer needs and motivations, along with evaluating market and competitor dynamics to develop insights that shape brand and marketing strategies. 
  • Strong Excel skills are required; experience with Tableau a plus. 
  • Legally authorized to work in the US.

The compensation for this position depends on experience, skills, qualifications, location, and competencies. We are a remote first organization with employees in 25 states and 5 countries and growing! We offer competitive compensation, bonus’, and benefit packages, PTO (unlimited or 3 weeks accrued depending on the role) as well as a 401K match and regularly review these to align with industry standards. We also offer new employees a one time work from home reimbursement to set up your home office. 

Pay Range

$160,000 - $180,000 USD
