Senior Tax Analyst

What The Role Is

The Clearway Tax group is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support the organization’s financial statement and income tax compliance functions for Clearway Energy’s portfolio of energy infrastructure assets. This dynamic role within the tax function will expose the candidate to both tax equity partnerships as well as corporate income tax on both reporting and compliance fronts.

What You'll Be Doing

• Quarterly and Annual Income Tax accounting/reporting functions
• Assist in the calculation of income tax footnotes and disclosures using ASC-740.
• Assist with One Source Tax Provision management for the year-end close process.
• Prepare tax basis balance sheet and return to provision analyses.
• Work with internal audit to provide the required documentation for internal control testing purposes.
• Compile State Apportionment data to calculate the annual effective tax rate.
• Income tax compliance
• Review tax returns prepared by third-party providers.
• Gather and organize information to support the tax return preparation process of third-party providers.
• Assist in the calculation and tracking of federal and state tax payments, including estimates, extensions, and notices/invoices received.
• Assist in maintaining the tax calendar of internal and external filing deadlines.
• Assist with the preparation of state and federal tax returns for certain Clearway entities that will be prepared internally by Clearway.

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of federal, state, and local tax provision/compliance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related major required.
• Proficiency in One Source Tax Provision.
• Knowledge of FAS 109 Tax Accounting/ASC-740 Tax Accounting.
• Tax compliance review experience of federal, state, and other jurisdictions, and knowledge of tax preparation software.
• Driven self-starter with a passion for excellence.
• Ability to multitask various projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What Would Be Nice

•  Working knowledge of Alteryx or other data automation platforms.
