Intern, Solar/Wind Operations Engineering
Who We Are Looking For
The Solar/Wind Operations Engineering Intern will be part of the Clearway Operations Engineering team and will report to the Head of Operations Engineering. The mission of the Ops Engineering team is to optimize the performance of Clearway Wind, Solar, and BESS power plants and ensure we are good stewards of the U.S. electric grid.
This position is part of the 10-week Summer Internship Program at Clearway Energy Group beginning on June 1, 2026.
We are looking for first-year students in a degree program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with an emphasis on renewable energy technologies.
Throughout this summer internship program, you’ll get exposure to real projects and challenges while gaining first-hand professional experience. At Clearway, you’ll gain access to an innovative and fast-paced work environment. You’ll also participate in networking and learning events with your fellow intern cohort.

This is a hybrid role that will be based in the Scottsdale Office. Our hybrid policy is that employees are in the office on Tuesdays & Thursdays.

What You'll Be Doing
Performance Analysis of Multiple Photovoltaic Module Technologies
The Solar Engineering Intern will primarily be responsible for evaluating solar module performance and degradation at multiple Clearway facilities in various climates.
The Solar Engineering Intern will be assigned to an individual project and will present results to the team and leadership at the end of the internship on August 4th.

- Proficiency in measurement and analysis.
- A successful candidate should be a strong user of MS Excel and related analytics tools.
Clearway will not sponsor non-immigrant visas for this position (H-1B, TN, E-3, J-1, etc.) or provide any assistance in support of any other form of immigration sponsorship or benefit, including OPT or CPT.
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is not eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.
Salary Range Across All U.S. Locations
$25 - $30 USD
