Senior Analyst, Business Development – West

Denver, Colorado, United States

What The Role Is

As a key member of the West Business Development & M&A team, the Senior Analyst will support commercial strategy and investment decisions across utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage assets. The role will combine development underwriting and PPA bidding with buy-side and sell-side M&A execution, including valuation, financial modeling, diligence, and transaction materials. This position reports directly to the Director, Business Development & M&A.

The role will be primarily focused on CAISO, Hawaii, and other West markets, while also supporting cross-region strategic M&A, including portfolio, operating, opportunistic acquisition, and asset-sale processes. This role is primarily focused on markets in California and Hawaii but will collaborate regularly with colleagues covering the broader West region.

This position is based in our Denver office; however, San Francisco-based candidates will be considered as an exception on a case-by-case basis for the right candidate.

If you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications but see yourself contributing, please submit your resume.

    • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis to work out impediments to negotiations and closings
    • Work with functional groups, third-party consultants, and various other stakeholders to drive projects forward and perform quantitative analyses to support development and financing judgements.
  • Oversee the integration of acquired projects into Clearway’s operating fleet, coordinating with relevant teams to ensure seamless transition and operation.
  • Develop and maintain internal tools and processes for tracking all active, inactive, and closed M&A deal activities.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree with a strong academic record from an undergraduate program, ideally with focus in economics, finance, or business administration.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience, project finance, corporate finance, consulting, strategy, corporate development, renewable energy, or a related analytical field.
  • A demonstrated interest in renewable energy projects and/or electricity markets in the United States is preferred.
  • Aptitude for analytical and financial modeling with demonstrated attention to detail.  Advanced capabilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are essential.
