Senior Business Development Manager

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Business Development Manager leads the team's effort to originate, structure, and close offtake arrangements for Clenera's mature utility-scale solar and storage projects.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Strategically originate solar and storage revenue contracts by conducting market analysis and leading marketing initiatives.
  • Responsible for analyzing market information necessary to successfully negotiate Power Purchase Agreements in coordination with Legal.
  • Research and communicate forecasting factors that could impact negotiated power pricing and volatility under long-term revenue contracts.
  • Understand and report on key market trends, including supply and demand drivers in our energy markets.
  • Oversee maintenance of cost roadmap in order to support commercial prioritization and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain professional network of potential offtaking entities.
  • Responsible for aspects of hiring, training, and developing employees, as well as managing the department’s budget.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in business development.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Ability to effective lead and manage internal and external teams.
    • Demonstrated success in managing relationships with a number of different kinds of stakeholders, especially landowners.
    • Ability to analyze complex data and situations to make decisions.
    • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
