Talent Partner - Engineering
At Cleo, we're building the world's smartest personal AI finance assistant, and we're looking for an enthusiastic Talent Partner with strong engineering recruitment experience to join our team. You’ll help us attract, engage, and secure the best talent in engineering, particularly in hiring Ruby and React engineers, who are critical to our mission.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about our mission, deeply knowledgeable about engineering talent acquisition, and eager to build an inclusive, high-performing company.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Talent Partner, you'll join our close-knit Talent Team, acting as a trusted partner and subject matter expert in engineering recruitment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning end-to-end hiring for engineering roles, primarily focused on Ruby and React engineers, while occasionally supporting other technical or product hiring needs.
- Partnering with hiring managers from the Engineering team to develop innovative recruitment strategies—from crafting compelling job adverts to sourcing candidates at tech meetups and communities.
- Ensuring best-in-class interview processes by using data to assess quality of hire, candidate experience, and hiring manager feedback.
- Proactively sourcing and engaging exceptional talent for our engineering roles through direct sourcing, building a strong referral network, and fostering candidate pipelines. We hire 99% of our roles directly.
- Embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in everything you do, from crafting outreach to working with external specialists on building inclusive recruitment campaigns.
- Conducting market research and talent mapping, primarily for the UK and occasionally in Europe, ensuring we’re ahead of the curve in understanding engineering talent trends.
- Staying updated on recruitment tools and techniques, leveraging platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter and Greenhouse to enhance our recruitment processes.
Most of our team is London-based, and we expect you to spend a minimum of two days a week in the office to collaborate with stakeholders, peers, and the People Team.
About You
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- Extensive proactive sourcing experience - nearly all of our engineering hires come from proactive outreach so you must be comfortable spending time directly sourcing rather than relying on applications or referrals.
- Proven experience owning end-to-end recruitment processes for engineering roles; with a strong focus on either Ruby / React engineers.
- At least one year of experience working internally for fast-growing, tech-driven companies—a mix of agency and in-house (or RPO/onsite) experience is ideal.
- A candidate-centric mindset that ensures an outstanding experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
- Strong stakeholder management skills: you listen, iterate quickly, and build trust-based relationships.
- A solution-oriented approach with creativity and determination to tackle hiring challenges in competitive markets.
- Data-driven thinking, leveraging metrics to improve processes and make informed decisions.
- A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with a keen understanding of the bigger picture and the value of exceptional engineering talent.
Tech TA toolkit: Experience with Greenhouse, Metaview, Otta LinkedIn Recruiter, Notion, and G-Suite is a plus. If you’ve worked with other advanced sourcing tools, that’s a big plus too!
