About the Role

Key Responsibilities 

As our Head of Content Design, you will:

  • Shape the future of financial guidance: Lead the integration of Cleo’s tone of voice into the product and set the vision for content design that engages millions of users with personalised, delightful experiences.
  • Inspire and lead a world-class team: Guide and mentor a talented group of content designers, fostering an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive. You'll empower them to deliver exceptional work across Cleo’s ambitious product roadmap.
  • Build meaningful partnerships: Work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and AI/ML teams to bring innovative ideas to life, ensuring a seamless and unified user experience across Cleo’s ecosystem.
  • Drive strategic impact: Develop scalable processes and systems that enable your team to deliver at speed without compromising quality. You’ll ensure content design plays a critical role in Cleo’s strategy to become the world's most intelligent finance coach
  • Champion user-centric design: Advocate for content design’s role in shaping user experiences that simplify and enrich people's financial lives, balancing creativity with measurable impact.
  • Be a voice for design leadership: Collaborate with Cleo’s senior leadership, including the founder/CEO, to represent content design as a strategic pillar in Cleo’s mission to improve financial wellbeing globally.

What We’re Looking For:

This is a senior leadership position which requires someone with significant experience in a similar leadership role in a product-focused tech companies.

  • Deep expertise in content design or UX writing, with proven success crafting engaging and user-centred experiences for mobile products
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in conversational design and chat-focused user interfaces, including comfort working with LLM-powered content at scale.
  • Previous experience and understanding of designing products for a US audience
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record of managing and mentoring teams (including managing managers) in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with cross-functional partners, balancing competing priorities, and navigating complex, highly regulated industries.
  • Passion for creating inclusive, thoughtful, and impactful user experiences that reflect the diverse needs of Cleo’s global audience.
  • A strategic and adaptable mindset, with the ability to advocate for content design and shape processes that support high-quality, user-focused work.
