About the role

As part of the Growth and Marketing leadership team at Cleo, you'll work closely with managers across brand, performance, product marketing, lifecycle, and data. You'll play a critical role in shaping our data-led strategy for efficiently acquiring users. Collaborating closely with growth marketing, brand marketing, and executive stakeholders, you'll define strategies to scale growth effectively and solidify Cleo’s position as a category leader in financial empowerment.

In addition to directly managing a team of senior marketing analysts, your role extends beyond people management. You'll remain hands-on, delivering impactful insights and building models that guide decisions around channel investment, creative strategy, campaign planning, and product-led growth initiatives.

What you’ll be doing

Marketing Leadership

  • Partner with Marketing leadership to shape long-term marketing strategies using data to evaluate performance, forecast outcomes, and influence channel and budget decisions.
  • Support the development of scalable marketing measurement frameworks (e.g. media mix modeling, CPA forecasting, LTV modelling, Lift Testing) that connect marketing performance to user and business outcomes.
  • Drive the adoption of marketing measurement best practices across the team, aligning acquisition metrics with longer term business metrics such as LTV & Revenue.

Team Management & Development

  • Manage and develop a team of 3 senior analysts, ensuring clear prioritisation, impactful delivery, and continued growth.
  • Oversee the marketing analytics roadmap and workload, ensuring the team is focused on the highest-leverage initiatives.
  • Foster a strong analytics culture that balances speed with rigour, and drives curiosity, experimentation, and commercial thinking.

 Hands-On Analytical Contribution

  • Collaborating with the data science teams to develop, validate, and operationalise Marketing Mix Models (MMM) that inform budget allocation and channel strategy.
  • Leading the design, implementation, and interpretation of conversion lift tests and incrementality studies across both digital and offline marketing channels, translating results into actionable insights for campaign planning.
  • Applying and evaluating our attribution model to understand channel contribution, cannibalisation, and guide data-driven investment decisions.
  • Deliver high-impact analysis across performance, organic, and brand marketing initiatives.
  • Investigate trends in key metrics (e.g. CPA, ROAS, LTV) to surface actionable insights and optimise investments.
  • Build dashboards and reporting infrastructure that unlock improved visibility across acquisition channels.
  • Supporting the measurement of OOH and brand campaigns, applying best practices to assess their impact across key business metrics and brand metrics.

Strategic Enablement & Cross-Function Collaboration

  • Work closely with Analytics Engineering to prioritise and contribute to data model improvements that enable more accurate and scalable insights.
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to Growth Marketing, Organic, Brand and CRM leads, helping to define what/how we test, learn, and scale.

What you’ll need

  • 5+ years in Analytics/Data Science, with a focus on Marketing Analytics/Science or a related field.
  • 1+ years experience with line management, including developing and mentoring analysts or data scientists, setting clear objectives, and effectively prioritising team workloads.
  • Strong background/understanding of marketing measurement methods, including Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM), Predictive LTV modelling, and Geo-Lift/Conversion Lift Studies/Brand Lift Studies.
  • Excellent knowledge of both Python & SQL.
  • Experience developing insightful dashboards and visualisations (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Mode) to clearly communicate analytical findings and support strategic decision-making.
  • Demonstrated strength in translating stakeholder needs into actionable recommendations, with results surfaced through write-ups, tools or dashboards to support decision-making.
  • A proactive approach to learning new technologies and stepping outside your comfort zone, whether building data pipelines, leveraging LLMs, or integrating new data sources.

Nice to have

  • Experience driving organic growth measurement (e.g., CRM, SEO attribution, content analytics, brand search impact).
  • Experience in working with MMPs (Appsflyer, Adjust etc)
  • Experience with B2C subscription business models.
  • Interest or experience in applying LLMs or AI/ML techniques in a marketing context (e.g., creative scoring, segmentation, dynamic content optimisation).

What do you get for all your hard work?

  • A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with bi-annual reviews, aligned to our quarterly OKR planning cycles. You can view our public progression framework and salary bandings here: https://cleo-ai.progressionapp.com/. This role is AX4 level.
  • Work at one of the fastest-growing tech startups, backed by top VC firms, Balderton & EQT Ventures
  • A clear progression plan. We want you to keep growing. That means trying new things, leading others, challenging the status quo and owning your impact. Always with our complete support.
  • Flexibility. We can’t fight for the world’s financial health if we’re not healthy ourselves. We work with everyone to make sure they have the balance they need to do their best work
  • Work where you work best. We’re a globally distributed team. If you live in London we have a hybrid approach, we’d love you to spend one day a week or more in our beautiful office. • Generous pay increases for high-performing team members
    • Equity top-ups for team members getting promoted
    • 25 days annual leave a year + public holidays (+ an additional day for every year you spend at Cleo, up to 30 days)
    • 6% employer-matched pension in the UK
    • Private Medical Insurance via Vitality, dental cover, and life assurance
    • Enhanced parental leave
    • 1 month paid sabbatical after 4 years at Cleo
    • Regular socials and activities, online and in-person
    • We'll pay for your OpenAI subscription
    • Online mental health support via Spill
    • Workplace Nursery Scheme
    • And many more!

We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

If there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.

UK App access: The Cleo app is no longer downloadable in the UK (but only until next year). If you’re an existing user, you’ll still have access to the app. But some features won’t be available (just for a little while). Why? 99% of our users are based in the US – where financial health is often overlooked. We’ve decided to shift our focus to where we can provide the most value and make the greatest impact for users who need it most. Then we’ll be able to apply what we learn to better support our UK users in the future.
