Role Overview:
As a Growth Diversification Lead, you’ll help shape the future of Cleo’s acquisition strategy beyond our core product (EWA). You’ll sit within Growth Marketing and have your own sub-team focusing on how we grow adoption of new Cleo products like our Chat and Cards offerings through performance marketing.
This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building from 0 to 1. You won’t run paid campaigns day to day, but you’ll lead the strategy, define go-to-market approaches, and partner with channel managers, product, user research, and creative teams to unlock efficient new user growth.
We’re launching more products and features than ever at Cleo and this role is pivotal in the success of those new products.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the growth strategy for new Cleo products via performance marketing (e.g. Chat, Card, upcoming launches)
- Audit current acquisition efforts, identify gaps, and build a roadmap for scaling new products through paid channels
- Define and own key metrics, with a focus on bringing new product CPAs in line with core product benchmarks
- Partner closely with product, creative, channel managers, and user research to shape messaging, test hypotheses and drive down CPA
- Use data and SQL to analyse acquisition performance, customer behaviour, and campaign results
- Build and scale processes for Diversification within the Growth team as this area expands
- Manage and mentor existing team members, growing your team over time
Requirements
- SQL skills: you’ll be in the data often, analysing acquisition performance and shaping strategies
- Experience in a performance marketing, growth, or marketing analytics role, ideally in a tech or startup environment
- Familiarity with paid advertising strategy (e.g. Meta, TikTok, Google) - you don’t need to run campaigns, but you should know how they work
- A creative eye: you understand what makes good ads convert and can work well with brand/creative teams
- Proven experience in using data to influence performance and acquisition metrics (e.g. CPA, conversion rate)
- Exceptional stakeholder management - able to collaborate across product, research, marketing, and creative
- Strong communication skills - comfortable working with ambiguity, leading roadmaps, and presenting strategy
- Comfortable building process in a new, unstructured area of the team
Who We’re Looking For
- A strategic thinker who thrives in fast-moving environments
- Someone who’s led or influenced growth for new products, and knows how to experiment, test, and optimise
- Comfortable being hands-on with data and solving problems without analyst support
- Excited by early-stage work, launching products, building frameworks, and improving performance from the ground up
- Understands that success won’t come overnight but knows how to iterate quickly to get there
- Has experience in smaller start-ups or high-growth teams with limited structure
- Bonus if you’ve worked in fintech, ad tech, or regulated industries
- Even better if you’ve worked on UK + US campaigns or with product-led growth
If you're ready to make a meaningful impact at a fast-growing company and help drive our mission forward, we'd love to hear from you!
What do you get for all your hard work?
- A competitive compensation package (base + equity) with bi-annual reviews, aligned to our quarterly OKR planning cycles. This role is G4 level, paying £70,980 - £93,026 depending on experience. UK App access: The Cleo app is no longer downloadable in the UK (but only until next year). If you’re an existing user, you’ll still have access to the app. But some features won’t be available (just for a little while). Why? 99% of our users are based
in the US – where financial health is often overlooked. We’ve decided to shift our focus to where we can provide the most value and make the greatest impact for users who need it most. Then we’ll be able to apply what we learn to better support our UK users in the future.
