NOTE: this position can be remote anywhere within the United States.

ClickHouse is seeking a Director or Senior Director of Product Management to deliver scalable, customer-friendly billing capabilities across direct and marketplace channels.  This role is tightly integrated with operational systems and finance, enabling frictionless purchase, expansion, and renewals for ClickHouse customers globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Billing user experience
    • Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on usage-based billing and marketplace commerce in both internal and customer-facing contexts.
    • Define and execute the product roadmap for metering, usage-based billing, invoicing, and marketplace integrations.
    • Partner with Engineering to deliver new billing capabilities, including metering enhancements, rating logic changes, and marketplace API integrations.
  • Cloud marketplace integrations
    • Own product strategy and execution for AWS Marketplace, GCP Marketplace, and Azure Marketplace integrations.
    • Support diverse billing models (pay-as-you-go, private offers, annual commitments) and streamlined onboarding flows.
    • Own marketplace commerce capabilities, including listing configurations, usage reporting, billing file ingestion, and payout reconciliation.
    • Participate in CSP marketplace-related GTM activities, negotiations, and programs
  • Billing reliability
    • Ensure accurate, auditable linkage between usage data and invoiced amounts, with appropriate logging and reconciliation processes.
    • Establish operational metrics for billing accuracy, invoice timeliness, and marketplace reconciliation performance.
    • Identify systemic issues that create billing inconsistencies or revenue leakage and work cross-functionally to resolve them.
  • Cross-functional collaboration 
    • Act as the product counterpart to IT’s finance systems leadership, working closely with the Sales Operations, IT, and Finance teams on workflow optimization and platform integration.
    • Ensure billing and marketplace roadmaps and IT automation efforts are in sync, such as quote-to-cash process alignment.
    • Collaborate with Finance to ensure customer invoices and marketplace transactions comply with ASC 606 revenue recognition and tax requirements.

Qualifications

Proven track record in billing and cloud marketplaces in B2B SaaS

    • 10+ years of product management experience in high-growth B2B SaaS companies. 
    • 5+ years owning usage-based billing, metering, and cloud marketplace systems in an infrastructure-focused B2B SaaS company.
    • Proven expertise with direct billing models, such as direct usage-based billing and committed spend contracts, as well as cloud-marketplace based pay-as-you-go and private offer based billing. 
    • Deep understanding of both product-led-growth (PLG) and enterprise sales driven buying motions.

Technical acumen in the billing and marketplace domain

    • Strong understanding of usage metering architecture and how it drives rating, invoicing, and reconciliation workflows.
    • Deep understanding of cloud marketplace operations (AWS, Azure, GCP) including technical and financial integration requirements.
    • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail; able to dive deep into data, systems, and workflows to identify and resolve issues.

Experience with modern billing technical stack

    • Hands-on expertise with modern billing stack components: usage-based billing SaaS services (such as Metronome, M3ter, Orb), usage-based invoicing via Stripe, and cloud marketplace integrations via Tackle. 
    • Working understanding of Salesforce, Netsuite, Mulesoft, and similar tools typically used in back office financial operations and process automation, to ensure effective partnership with owners of these systems. 

Experienced in cross-functional collaboration with IT and Finance

    • Excellent collaboration skills, especially with Finance, IT, Operations, Sales, Support, and Growth teams.
    • Solid working knowledge of enterprise SaaS finance, accounting, and tax principles, required for effective cross-functional collaboration. 
    • Track record of delivering complex, multi-system product initiatives with cross-functional dependencies.

New York Area / San Francisco Area - Salary Range

$210,000 - $260,000 USD

General US Remote Salary Range

$190,000 - $245,000 USD

Los Angeles, CA / Washington, DC - Salary Range

$200,000 - $240,000 USD

Seattle, WA - Full Salary Range

$200,000 - $240,000 USD
