We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the strategy and execution for ClickHouse Private, purpose-built for enterprises that require full control, data sovereignty, and the highest levels of compliance.
In this role, you will own the end-to-end vision, roadmap, and commercialization strategy for customer-managed deployments. This is a high-visibility, high-impact position focused on evolving our ClickHouse Private offering into a scalable, secure, and mission-critical platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the long-term product strategy for ClickHouse Private, ensuring alignment with enterprise and public-sector requirements for isolation, compliance, security, and performance.
- Lead deep customer discovery with organizations operating in customer-managed environments; translate insights into clear, prioritized roadmap initiatives.
- Partner closely with engineering on architecture decisions, hardware profiles, deployment topologies, compatibility, and release management.
- Own pricing and packaging strategy across deployment models to support sustainable growth and adoption.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, marketing, sales, and support to deliver compelling positioning, launch readiness, and field enablement.
- Define success metrics (KPIs), track adoption and operational performance, and communicate progress, tradeoffs, and risks to senior leadership.
- Serve as the executive facing product owner for ClickHouse Private, representing the offering with strategic customers and partners.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of product management experience with substantial ownership of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, databases, or developer-facing products.
- Knowledge of distributed systems with strong understanding of cloud architectures across AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on familiarity with Kubernetes and the operator pattern; experience managing or shipping distributed or stateful systems in containerized environments - OpenShift, Tanzu, Rancher.
- Understanding of bare metal data infrastructure and self-managed object storage (S3 APIs, MinIO, Ceph, VAST, etc.) and associated operational tradeoffs.
- Deep understanding of databases, OLAP systems, or distributed data infrastructure; ClickHouse experience strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage deeply on architecture with engineers and credibly with executives or government stakeholders on strategy and impact.
Nice to Haves
- Experience building sovereign cloud, air-gapped, or FedRAMP-authorized offerings.
- Background commercializing open-source technologies into enterprise products.
- Experience operating in high-growth startup or scale-up environments.
The typical starting salary for this role in the US is
$185,000 - $240,000 USD
The typical starting salary for this role in US Premium Markets is
$200,000 - $270,000 USD
Compensation
For roles based in the United States, the typical starting salary range for this position is listed above. In certain locations, such as the San Francisco Bay Area and the New York City Metro Area, a premium market range may apply, as listed.
These salary ranges reflect what we reasonably and in good faith believe to be the minimum and maximum pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation may be higher or lower than the amounts listed, and the ranges may be subject to future adjustments.
An individual’s placement within the range will depend on various factors, including (but not limited to) education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, location, performance, and the needs of the business or organization.
