Amazon Merchandising Specialist (Remote or Hybrid)

We are looking for an Amazon Merchandising Specialist who will drive strategic growth on Amazon for our internal brands US Cargo Control and Fasteners Plus!

*Must be authorized to work in the United States. 

This team member will be counted on to drive action through urgency, decisiveness, clear expectations, and accountability. When the solution isn't clear, they will research solutions and remain curious to new approaches - constantly looking to learn, grow, and improve.

The adventure of quickly getting up to speed with the many products, competitors, vendors, and markets will be eagerly embraced. As a result, this team member will utilize the knowledge gained to make an immediate impact in how we should approach marketing our products on Amazon. Additionally, the decisions and recommendations will be easily understood as a result of the high level of organization and utilization of data.

They will seek out the expertise of team members and take initiative to identify where improvements can be made, build on what's going well, enhance our processes, provide accountability to execution, and celebrate great results. Key Responsibilities:
Market Research:

  • Scope the market and competitor landscape with a customer-first mindset, to understand the earnings opportunity and how our product offerings compare to top listings.
  • Identify, document, and prioritize keyword and competitor ASIN targets.
  • Deliver actionable data and findings with team members; provide an objective assessment of our listings in relation to competitors that enables a more comprehensive merchandising strategy and better execution of work.
  • Communicate critical takeaways from market research with colleagues and project teams to ensure alignment and understanding.

Merchandising & Marketing:

  • Populate accurate and complete information for all critical listing components, following best practices.
  • Manage and organize the product catalog to maximize profitability and reduce noise; this includes adding and removing items from the catalog and the implementation of variations, as needed.
  • Develop thoughtful, relevant content for Amazon listings that is error free and grounded in keyword research.
  • Establish item pricing that maximize gross profit dollars, with the goal of hitting target margins while keeping sales velocity high.

Project Management:

  • Scope project work thoroughly and align with stakeholders in advance of execution to avoid rework and minimize feedback.
  • Utilize repeatable tools and processes to ensure efficient execution.
  • Deliver high-quality work, in accordance with project milestones.

Inventory Management:

  • Identify the optimal fulfillment method for products, considering item dimensions, freight costs, and marketplace fees.
  • Collaborate with Amazon Inventory Specialist to maintain optimal FBA inventory allocation.
  • Update product merchandising and advertising, as needed, to address and avoid excess FBA inventory.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Skilled in utilizing Amazon Seller Central, Helium10, and related e-commerce tools.
  • Understanding of Amazon's algorithms, best practices, and advertising tools
  • Understanding of and experience executing SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tactics; background in market and keyword research, content creation, and pricing strategy.
  • Education in Marketing and Merchandising.
  • Proficient in Excel.
