Position Overview:
The Program Manager at Climate and Community Laboratory, Inc. (CCL) will play a critical role in developing and executing programs that advance the organization’s mission of fostering economic mobility and environmental sustainability in underrepresented communities. The Program Manager will oversee day-to-day program operations, ensuring the successful implementation of workforce development and community engagement initiatives aimed at connecting economically disadvantaged communities to jobs in the clean energy sector.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program management, particularly in the fields of workforce development, environmental justice, and clean energy. They will work closely with stakeholders, including community members, local governments, and industry partners, to ensure the delivery of impactful and sustainable programs. The Program Manager will report directly to the CEO and collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:

  • Design, plan, and implement workforce development programs that provide pathways to employment in the clean energy sector for underemployed and economically disadvantaged populations.
  • Develop community engagement strategies that educate and empower diverse stakeholders to promote environmental sustainability and resilience in their communities.
  • Ensure that all programs align with CCL’s mission to promote environmental justice and social equity through comprehensive training and workforce opportunities.
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of programs, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation.

Stakeholder and Community Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, local governments, chambers of commerce, educational institutions, and industry partners to support program goals.
  • Work closely with community organizations to identify workforce needs and ensure that training programs are tailored to meet local economic and environmental challenges.
  • Organize community outreach activities, workshops, and events to promote awareness of CCL’s programs and services.
  • Serve as a liaison between CCL and its partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on joint initiatives.

Program Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs, collecting data and metrics to assess outcomes and inform continuous improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the CEO, Board of Directors, and funders on program progress, outcomes, and impact.
  • Ensure that program goals and objectives are met, and adjust strategies as needed to address emerging challenges and opportunities.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor program staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development of program staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve program objectives.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, innovation, and accountability within the program team.

Budget and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the CEO and finance team.
  • Ensure the efficient use of resources to achieve program objectives while maintaining financial sustainability.
  • Identify funding opportunities, contribute to grant writing, and work with development staff to secure resources for program expansion.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in program management, particularly in workforce development, clean energy, environmental sustainability, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of issues related to environmental justice, economic mobility, and workforce development, especially as they impact economically disadvantaged communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including community organizations, government entities, and industry partners.
  • Experience in program evaluation and data-driven decision-making to assess program effectiveness and inform strategy.
  • Commitment to CCL’s mission of promoting equity, social justice, and environmental sustainability.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with financially underserved and marginalized communities in urban environments.
  • Familiarity with Denver and/ or Chicago’s clean energy and workforce development landscape.
  • Knowledge of clean energy technologies and their application to workforce training programs.
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public policy, non-profit management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Benefits package included.

Salary range: $70,000- $90,000
