Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned Social Media Manager with extensive experience in social media and marketing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing, managing, and executing comprehensive social media strategies that amplify brand presence, foster engagement, and drive measurable results. This role will also oversee the production and distribution of our monthly newsletter and ensure seamless communication within the social media team.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Storytelling and Brand Development:
- Craft compelling narratives that align with our mission to support climate innovation and justice.
- Enhance brand awareness by creating content that resonates with our target audience and reflects our core values.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align social media efforts with overall company goals and initiatives.

Advanced Social Media Management:
- Develop, implement, and refine social media strategies to increase brand visibility and engagement.
- Manage and grow our presence on key platforms, including LinkedIn and Twitter, while evaluating and expanding into new channels.
- Build and nurture an active, engaged community that champions our mission and drives positive social impact.
- Set, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess campaign effectiveness and inform future strategies.

Newsletter Leadership:
- Lead the design, management, and publication of the monthly newsletter in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Innovate the newsletter format to better serve client needs, showcasing our expertise and achievements in climate finance.
- Analyze performance metrics to continuously improve newsletter engagement and reach.
- Develop and maintain a digital archive of all newsletters for easy access and reference.

Project and Team Management:
- Drive the social media strategy from conception through execution, ensuring alignment with broader marketing objectives.
- Maintain open, transparent communication across departments.
- Provide clear project updates, manage expectations, and adapt to any changes in strategy or direction.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in social media management, preferably within the climate, finance, or tech sectors.
- Proven ability to craft and implement successful social media campaigns that drive engagement and achieve organizational goals.
- 3+ years of experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and marketing analytics.
- 3+ years of experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) to track campaigns and analyze data.
- Strong storytelling and content creation skills, with a focus on mission-driven messaging.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead a remote team with a collaborative mindset.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Deep commitment to climate action and equity.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strongly preferred: experience with grants. Experience with climate startups or related sectors is also preferred.
- Proficiency in Slack, Asana, Mailchimp, and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment, with the ability to adapt to rapid changes.
