Position Summary
Climate First Bank is seeking an experienced Director of Core Systems to serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for the Bank's Jack Henry Silverlake Core Banking System and related Jack Henry and Finastra applications. This role is responsible for the administration, optimization, maintenance, testing, and strategic enhancement of the Bank's core processing and lending technology environment.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience with core banking systems, particularly Jack Henry Silverlake, along with a strong understanding of banking operations, lending systems, regulatory expectations, integrations, testing, and vendor management. This individual will partner closely with senior leadership to ensure the Bank's technology ecosystem supports growth, risk management, customer experience, and operational efficiency.
This position serves as a strategic partner to Marketing in the development, configuration, implementation, and launch of new banking products and services that support the Bank's growth objectives, customer experience goals, and operational efficiency initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Core Banking Systems Administration
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Jack Henry Silverlake, Banno (digital banking) and related Jack Henry applications and integrated solutions.
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Finastra’s DecisionPro and MortgageBot.
- Manage the implementation of Jack Henry’s Enterprise Workflow Solutions.
- Maintain core parameters, product setups, system configurations, business rules, and operational settings.
- Manage user security, access administration, and related system controls in coordination with IT.
- Coordinate Silverlake releases, upgrades, patches, testing, and implementation activities.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, changes, testing, and recurring administrative activities.
- Own loan and deposit product creation and development through system configuration, testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure product designs, features, rates, disclosures, customer-facing materials, and customer experience objectives can be effectively supported within the Bank's core, digital banking, and lending platforms.
- Lead core system data conversions and validations.
Compliance, Risk, and Security
- Ensure system administration practices comply with Bank policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audit requests, examinations, compliance reviews, and operational control testing.
- Participate in disaster recovery exercises and business continuity planning for critical banking systems.
- Maintain strong access controls, segregation of duties, and change management practices within core and lending systems.
- Assist with SOX, cybersecurity, vendor management, and operational risk control activities as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field; equivalent banking experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience administering a core banking platform.
- Experience managing system implementations, upgrades, testing, and issue resolution.
- Understanding of deposit operations, loan operations, general ledger, treasury management, digital banking, and banking compliance requirements.
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and document findings, and problem-solve.
Preferred
- 5 or more years of Jack Henry SilverLake administration experience.
- Experience with Jack Henry applications such as Enterprise Workflow, Cognos, Xperience, Banno, Treasury Management, DirectLine, PayCenter/FedNow, or related solutions.
- Hands-on experience with Finastra products including DecisionPro and Mortgagebot.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior leadership, business users, technical teams, auditors, and vendors.
