Summary
The Editorial Content Associate supports and works closely with the Content Strategy team to efficiently produce high-impact, high-quality bespoke and proactive products for ultra-high net worth donors interested in climate. The Editorial Content Associate is exposed to and involved with all aspects of the production process, from helping to source, draft, and polish content, to managing production projects, to overseeing assets and resources that the team relies upon for product development. This position is intended for an individual with an interest in exploring the many facets of content development and pursuing a communications career.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Content Development and Research (35%)
- Conduct research in support of bespoke and proactive donor products and other content, including fact-checking to ensure accuracy, data gathering, and information sourcing.
- Proofread and edit a variety of content for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand voice and Climate Lead style guidelines.
- In partnership with project teams, draft strategic briefs that drive product development.
- Create and standardize short-form content for memos and other materials, including solution summaries and descriptive language about NGO work.
- Support the development of bespoke presentation decks tailored for specific donors.
- Maintain and update content products across multiple platforms (e.g., Google Drive, Salesforce), collaborating with designers on corrections and minor revisions.
- Manage the annual review cycle for content products, ensuring all materials are current in the knowledge management system (KMS).
- Administer updates to the Climate Lead style guide.
Project Management and Production (35%)
- Support video production by managing logistical aspects like location booking, securing release forms, and coordinating with film crews and interviewees.
- Assist in the buildout of digital tools, working in coordination with the marketing team and digital manager.
- Manage select content development projects, including creating and maintaining project timelines in Asana, coordinating across teams, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Work with external vendors and secure printers for all print products.
- Act as a liaison between the content team and designers for complex, multi-part projects.
- Manage the content sections of the Comms editorial calendar, to maximize visibility of workflows across the team and connect dots across projects.
- Support the Sr Director in organizing and overseeing the production process, and coordinate as appropriate with GCS and PT project managers.
Asset and Information Management (20%)
- Source and procure images for content products, which may include coordinating with partners and securing necessary releases.
- Manage the digital asset library as a Mediagraph superuser, handling asset collection, tagging, and release management.
- Maintain and organize a library of design files.
Miscellaneous (10%)
- Handle administrative tasks related to contract management, scheduling, and supporting operational needs of the content team.
Success Criteria
- Ability to prioritize busy workstreams, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines, right-sizing the level of effort to anticipated return on investment.
- Willingness to dive deep into content resources to learn about different climate issue areas in preparation for communicating about them to a non-technical audience.
- Ability to work across teams in a matrixed environment to maximize productivity, including effectively coordinating with cross-team colleagues to keep processes on track.
- Self-starter capable of working independently and knowing when to seek assistance.
Required Experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to translate complexity into straightforward, clear language.
- Strong detail orientation.
- Proficiency with Google applications including Google Docs and Google Slides, and other tools including Asana, Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe InDesign (desired but not required).
- Experience managing multi-faceted projects and collaborating with colleagues across teams.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree is helpful but not required.
Work Environment
This position may be based in Climate Lead’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA, or hub location in Washington, DC. Staff in the San Francisco Bay Area currently work in the office Tuesday through Thursday each week and typically work from home on the other days. Staff in Washington, DC will work remotely from a home office.
Salary Range
$99,000 - $110,000
