Technical Support Engineer Intern (July to December 2026)

In-Office
About Us

At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company.

At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized" problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in.

Available location(s): Singapore

Why Cloudflare?

Cloudflare is the fabric of the modern internet, securing and accelerating approximately 20% of all HTTP traffic across 330 cities worldwide. Here, you aren’t just working on a siloed app; you are operating at the epicenter of the AI revolution, helping the world’s most innovative startups deploy LLMs and vector databases at the edge. From pioneering post-quantum cryptography to serving as the "Internet’s First Responder" during global BGP leaks and Zero-Day vulnerabilities, we provide a front-row seat to the future of compute. In our Singapore hub, you’ll join a culture of radical transparency and technical excellence where we prioritize a fast, private, and secure internet for everyone.

The Mission

As a Technical Support Engineer Intern, you are the bridge between global customers and our internal product engineers. You will act as a technical investigator, translating complex puzzles into actionable solutions for everyone from solo developers to Fortune 500 enterprises. Your goal is to ensure the "Edge" remains reliable by diagnosing real-world use cases and providing direct feedback to our product teams. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role where your insights don’t just solve tickets; they actively shape the development of Cloudflare’s future product suite.

Why This Internship?

Forget the "intern" stereotypes—this is a 12-week intensive designed to turn students into world-class engineers. You will skip the coffee runs and dive straight into rigorous, hands-on training that bridges the gap between classroom theory and massive-scale infrastructure. Through close mentorship and job-shadowing, you’ll tackle the same complex troubleshooting as our full-time staff, gaining deep proficiency in networking, security, and serverless compute. You will leave Cloudflare not just with a line on your resume, but with a battle-tested portfolio of skills that will set you apart in the global tech talent pool.

What You’ll Do: Technical Impact & Growth

  • Deep-Dive Investigations: Move beyond surface-level fixes. You will troubleshoot complex networking, security, and performance issues using the same tools our core engineers use.
  • The AI Frontier: Help customers operate and optimize Cloudflare Workers AI, exploring how LLMs and vector databases operate at the edge.
  • Master the Stack: Gain battle-tested experience with Layers 3, 4, and 7. You’ll live in the command line using curl, dig, mtr, and openssl to diagnose global traffic patterns.
  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Beyond support, you’ll shadow senior engineers, contribute to product runbooks, and provide direct feedback to Product Management to shape the future of our features.
  • High-Velocity Learning: Experience the thrill of a high-growth environment where new features ship daily and the scale is measured in petabytes.
  • Available for a full-time minimum 12-week internship, working from our Singapore office 3-5 days a week between July - December.

What We’re Looking For

  • The "Curiosity" Factor: You’re the person who doesn’t just want to fix a bug. You want to know why it happened.
  • Internet Fundamentals: You understand the OSI model and have a healthy obsession with how packets move from Point A to Point B.
  • Scripting Mindset: You’re comfortable (or eager to become comfortable) in Python, JavaScript, or Bash to automate the boring stuff.
  • The Human Element: You can translate complex technical jargon into actionable solutions for our customers.
  • Academic Path: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.

Technical Toolkit (Preferred)

  • Familiarity with Linux environments and the CLI.
  • Foundational knowledge of DNS, SSL/TLS, and HTTP/3.
  • Experience configuring web servers (Nginx, Apache) or playing with serverless technologies.

Bonus Points (The "Stand Out" Section)

  • Cloudflare Power User: You have a personal site or project running on Cloudflare (Workers, Pages, or R2).
  • Network Junkie: You’ve tinkered with BGP, GRE tunnels, or advanced routing.

What Makes Cloudflare Special?

We’re not just a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company. We’re a highly ambitious, large-scale technology company with a soul. Fundamental to our mission to help build a better Internet is protecting the free and open Internet.

Project Galileo: Since 2014, we've equipped more than 2,400 journalism and civil society organizations in 111 countries with powerful tools to defend themselves against attacks that would otherwise censor their work, technology already used by Cloudflare’s enterprise customers--at no cost.

Athenian Project: In 2017, we created the Athenian Project to ensure that state and local governments have the highest level of protection and reliability for free, so that their constituents have access to election information and voter registration. Since the project, we've provided services to more than 425 local government election websites in 33 states.

1.1.1.1: We released 1.1.1.1 to help fix the foundation of the Internet by building a faster, more secure and privacy-centric public DNS resolver. This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever. We will continue to abide by our privacy commitment and ensure that no user data is sold to advertisers or used to target consumers.

Sound like something you’d like to be a part of? We’d love to hear from you!

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
