Senior Manager, Data Science

Remote - USA

At Counterpart Health, we are transforming healthcare and improving patient care with our innovative primary care tool, Counterpart Assistant. By supporting Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), we are able to deliver improved outcomes to our patients at a lower cost through early diagnosis and longitudinal care management of chronic conditions.

The Data Science team is responsible for leveraging our most valuable asset—our data—to generate meaningful value for our members. From building models that assist physicians in treating conditions to identifying members in need of specialized care, Data Science at Clover develops data products and insights that are central to our mission and differentiation as a company. We’re looking for a Data Science Manager to help us build a revolutionary healthcare company.

As a Senior Data Science Manager, you will:

  • Manage multiple related business functions that deliver significant enterprise value
  • Generate high leverage solutions that deliver on the expectations of the function independently, without day-to-day guidance
  • Establish an overall vision and associated roadmap for team’s work and independently allocate resources to that vision
  • Keep the team unblocked, effective, appropriately prioritized, and incentivized
  • Hire, grow, and retain high-performing talent. Identify talent needs
  • Maximize team members’ growth and impact over time
  • Communicate well. Convey ideas clearly, defuse fraught situations, and keep conversations on point
  • Build and maintain a team culture of trust and respect

You will love this job if you:

  • You are passionate about the impact that data science can have in the healthcare space
  • You have a mastery of analytical work and are driven to find applications for that work.
  • You reason holistically. From project scope and priority to implementation and tooling, you will shepherd work from idea to impact
  • You are comfortable acting autonomously to meet the needs of a wide range of problems
  • You are fearless in the face of messy data, and can set patterns that structure those data for others to use
  • You strive to automate as much as possible, yet understand the value of explicitly incorporating human decisions into the systems you build
  • You are excited about growing a team, and find deep professional satisfaction in seeing that team improve and succeed

You should get in touch if you:

  • Have demonstrated expertise managing data science teams, including setting roadmaps, delivering on priorities, and effective personnel management
  • Have deep data science expertise and have a well established set of heuristics to evaluate planned and executed work
  • Have expertise with the data science toolkit, including SQL, python, fundamentals of computer science, and fundamentals of product management
  • You have led projects and have also created the space and opportunity for other people to become leaders
  • Have experience navigating competing and possibly conflicting requirements and generating clear, consistent, and valuable results
  • Have an advanced degree in a quantitative field, especially dealing with complex data-driven results, or equivalent experience

Benefits Overview:

  • Financial Well-Being: Our commitment to attracting and retaining top talent begins with a competitive base salary and equity opportunities. Additionally, we offer a performance-based bonus program and regular compensation reviews to recognize and reward exceptional contributions.
  • Physical Well-Being: We prioritize the health and well-being of our employees and their families by offering comprehensive group medical coverage that include coverage for hospitalization, outpatient care, optical services, and dental benefits.
  • Mental Well-Being: We understand the importance of mental health in fostering productivity and maintaining work-life balance. To support this, we offer initiatives such as No-Meeting Fridays, company holidays, access to mental health resources, and a generous annual leave policy. Additionally, we embrace a remote-first culture that supports collaboration and flexibility, allowing our team members to thrive from any location.
  • Professional Development: We are committed to developing our talent professionally. We offer learning programs, mentorship, professional development funding, and regular performance feedback and reviews.

Additional Perks:

  • Reimbursement for office setup expenses
  • Monthly cell phone & internet stipend
  • Flexibility to work from home, enabling collaboration with global teams
  • Paid parental leave for all new parents
  • And much more!

Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
