Merchandise Design Specialist

2000 Center Drive, East D315, Hoffman Estates, IL 60192

Who We Are:

Club Colors partners with top college campuses and leading corporations to turn ideas into branded experiences. From custom merch to immersive packaging and event visuals, we specialize in creative that connects. Our team blends energy with execution, and we’re looking for designers who do the same.

Job Summary:

Are you fueled by creativity and obsessed with branding? Do you see t-shirts, packaging, and promotional pieces as blank canvases for storytelling? We’re looking for a talented designer with a flair for translating brand identities into compelling, on-trend merchandise—especially in the apparel space.

This is not just a design role. It’s an opportunity to help shape how people emotionally connect with brands through physical experiences. Whether designing spirited collegiate drops or sleek corporate kits, you’ll blend bold design with strategic intent, creating pieces people actually want to wear and share.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design with intention: Create merchandise and apparel graphics that align with both brand standards and audience energy—from hype-worthy campus drops to polished executive kits.
  • Concept and collaborate: Work closely with Sales, Production, and Brand teams to translate business goals into creative executions.
  • Build branded systems: Develop scalable visual themes and templates across digital and physical touchpoints (t-shirts, patches, signage, packaging, and more).
  • Innovate with tools: Use Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and emerging AI tools (like ChatGPT or Adobe Firefly) to streamline your creative process.
  • Trend-spot and translate: Stay ahead of design and fashion trends and adapt them for collegiate and corporate markets.
  • Own your work: Manage multiple projects with clarity and confidence, from kickoff to delivery.
  • Support a wide range of visual needs beyond apparel, including:
    • Digital banners and marketing assets
    • Event signage and wayfinding
    • Custom packaging and branded print materials
    • Tradeshow graphics and spatial branding

What You Bring:

  • 2–4 years of experience in graphic design (with a focus on apparel or promotional products).
  • A killer portfolio that shows versatility, creativity, and an understanding of brand.
  • Mastery of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Canva.
  • Familiarity with AI and digital design tools (e.g., Adobe Firefly, Canva AI, ChatGPT).
  • Strong sense of layout, typography, color, and print production techniques.
  • A curious, adaptable, and fast-moving mindset.

 Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • You’ll work on designs that get seen—and worn—by thousands.
  • You’ll partner with passionate people in a culture that celebrates ideas.
  • You’ll grow your skills across multiple industries and mediums.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
