About the role:
Clutch is looking for an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join our Finance & Accounting team! You are a highly organized, detail-oriented professional with a passion for process excellence and team leadership. In this role, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounts payable function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all vendor payments and expense processes.
You’ll play a key role in optimizing workflows, implementing best practices, and supporting Clutch’s fast-paced growth by maintaining strong vendor relationships and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting.
What you’ll do:
- Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable team, providing guidance, training, and feedback.
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, approvals, and vendor payments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Review and reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Operations, and Finance teams to resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
- Manage vendor relationships - addressing inquiries, resolving disputes, and ensuring timely payment cycles.
- Monitor and improve accounts payable KPIs (aging, payment terms, discounts, etc) to optimize working capital.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
- Work closely with the Finance & Accounting team on various ad-hoc projects that will improve and maintain the accounts payable function.
We’re looking for:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounts payable, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls related to AP processes.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort learning new financial systems and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You can build strong relationships across teams and with external vendors.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset. You are proactive in identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions.
- You are entrepreneurial and a hustler: you do what it takes to get the job done and enjoy working hard.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion is a plus.
- You are comfortable working at our Downtown Toronto office at 60 Adelaide St. E.
