Position Overview

We’re seeking a hands-on and strategic Regional Controller to lead and oversee the accounting operations across a portfolio of field service businesses. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in GAAP, experience managing accounting teams, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with finance and operations leaders. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting M&A integration, and driving process improvements across the region.

This job is full time Monday – Friday, 8am to 5 pm. If the candidate is located near the NY HQ or Washington DC offices, we will require to be in office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

Financial Close & Accounting Operations

  • Lead transition of Regional PartnerCos from cash-based to accrual-based accounting methodology
  • Manage monthly close calendar ensuring all PartnerCos complete accurate, GAAP-compliant closes within 10 days
  • Drive material process and systems improvements to enhance closing efficiency
  • Facilitate CFGI post-close workstreams and implement consulting recommendations

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver flash reports of Revenue and Adjusted EBITDA within 7 days of month-end (accurate within 5% of final numbers)
  • Compile and present comprehensive consolidated financial packages with variance analysis to Market Area President and Director of Finance within 12 days
  • Identify and incorporate EBITDA addbacks into regular reporting processes
  • Maintain 13-week rolling cash flow forecasts for each PartnerCo

Financial Controls & Compliance

  • Maintain and enhance business systems, processes, and internal controls including budgets and KPIs
  • Ensure zero regulatory compliance issues across licenses, permits, bonds, and tax obligations
  • Facilitate monthly budgeted cash sweeps to HoldCo while preventing cash flow issues at Regional PartnerCos
  • Monitor key financial drivers and manage performance against targets

Systems & Strategic Support

  • Support Sage Intacct implementation and drive integrations with non-accounting systems
  • Provide audit support to HoldCo for consolidated annual audits with zero material errors
  • Lead Regional PartnerCo budget processes in partnership with Market Area President

Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or regional oversight
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Proficient with accounting software and ERP systems (Sage Intacct preferred)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization
