Cobalt Service Partners Overview

Cobalt Service Partners is a private equity–backed platform building the leading commercial access and security integration business in North America. Our partner companies design, install, and service mission-critical systems including access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage infrastructure for enterprise, institutional, and commercial customers.

Backed by Alpine Investors, a private equity firm specializing in middle-market companies in the services and software industries with $15B+ in AUM, Cobalt has scaled rapidly since launch. With more than 20 acquisitions completed in a highly fragmented operating environment, Cobalt is building a differentiated, data-driven platform designed to scale through both organic growth and M&A.

Cobalt’s Core Values Are

  • Unwavering stewardship: We believe advancing founders’ legacies is a privilege. We do right by our founders, teams, and customers in good times and in bad.
  • Excellence in action: We hold ourselves accountable to the highest standards. We’re bold in our pursuits, don’t make excuses, and relentlessly empower each other to get the job done.
  • Seek and tell the truth: We’re honest with ourselves and others. We do what we say we’ll do, say what needs to be said, and search for the right answer regardless of where it comes from.
  • Love learning: We’re always learning as individuals, as a team, and as a business. We show up humble, curious, and with the courage to change our minds.
  • Enjoy the ride: We’re fired up by our mission, love our team, and don’t take either for granted. We show up authentically, assume best intent, and try not to take ourselves too seriously.

Position Overview

The Senior FP&A Analyst is a high-impact, highly visible role within a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment. You will be a critical contributor to Cobalt’s financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes — supporting a platform that is scaling rapidly through acquisition.

This individual thrives in structured, team-oriented environments, brings a strong accounting foundation to their FP&A work, and is energized by the pace of a growth-oriented PE-backed platform. You will own your deliverables completely; you must be able to communicate with confidence, and bring a proactive, no-stone-left-unturned mindset to everything you produce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting: Support the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-range planning across multiple business units.
  • Variance Analysis & Reporting: Analyze monthly actuals vs. budget and forecast, identify key variances, and deliver meaningful, decision-ready commentary to senior stakeholders.
  • 13-Week Cash Flow: Own and manage the 13-Week Cash Flow forecast model and reporting cadence, tracking DSO, DPO, and working capital drivers — presenting insights directly to senior leadership.
  • OneStream Administration: Maintain and administer OneStream, managing data inputs across multiple business units and building reports used in monthly financial reporting and planning processes.
  • Financial Modeling & Dashboards: Develop and maintain financial models and dashboards that provide real-time, actionable insights into business performance.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure accuracy across all reporting and analytics efforts, applying a rigorous check-and-balance process to every deliverable before it reaches leadership.
  • Executive & Sponsor Reporting: Prepare regular and ad hoc financial reports and presentations for executive leadership and private equity sponsors, as well as quarterly financial reports for lenders.
  • AI & Technology Adoption: Champion the adoption of AI tools and Microsoft Copilot to streamline financial workflows, automate reporting tasks, and introduce best-in-class operational practices across the team.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical role; a career progression from accounting into FP&A is strongly preferred.
  • OneStream experience is required; demonstrated ability to manage data inputs, build reports, and support cross-functional planning processes within the platform.
  • Background in a late-stage, PE-backed company environment; experience supporting scaled operations and reporting to institutional investors is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus.
  • Strong Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with Sage or Power BI is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement or support technology-driven process improvements, including AI-driven workflow automation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a proven, repeatable check-and-balance process for financial outputs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and present financial insights with clarity and confidence.

Core Competencies

  • Ownership Mindset: Takes full accountability for deliverables and outcomes — no gaps left unaddressed, no excuses made.
  • Confidence: Presents analysis and recommendations with conviction, even when the data tells a difficult story.
  • Proactivity & Sense of Urgency: Anticipates needs, flags issues early, and moves with speed and purpose without waiting to be asked.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains a personal check-and-balance process that ensures every report is accurate and ready for executive review before it leaves their hands.
  • Prioritization: Manages competing deadlines in a fast-scaling environment and makes smart, transparent calls about where to focus.
  • Self-Starter: Operates independently, brings structure to ambiguous situations, and doesn’t require hand-holding to deliver.
  • Team Orientation: Thrives in collaborative, high-energy environments and actively makes the people around them better.

Compensation and Timing

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. Cobalt offers a comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, 401(k) match, and flexible time off. Cobalt is looking to add this role in the near term as a critical investment in the company’s future.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
