Scientist, DMPK (BioAnalytical and Medical Writing)

KIT D816V is responsible for driving a rare and serious condition called Systemic Mastocytosis, and exon 17 mutations are also found in patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST), a type of cancer with strong dependence on oncogenic KIT signaling. Bezuclastinib has exhibited promising initial data across all three trials: APEX in AdvSM, SUMMIT in NonAdvSM and PEAK in GIST, including an encouraging safety profile across 600+ patients in single agent and combination dosing.
The Role: This position works in Drug Discovery to provide bioanalytical support for PK, PK/PD, TK, and TGI experiments across multiple programs. The successful candidate will utilize their strong knowledge of LC-MS/MS bioanalysis to quantitate small molecule drugs in biological matrices (plasma primarily). Independent method development, routine bioanalysis, and communication of high-quality data are hallmarks for the position. Maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of LC-MS/MS instrumentation and software is expected. Secondary roles of the position include providing technical writing support and review as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop LC-MS/MS methods to quantitate small molecules in biological matrices
- Routine bioanalysis and data release to DMPK project leads
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair LC-MS/MS instrumentation and software, including coordination with service engineers for complex matters
- Support technical writing efforts and data QC for preclinical ADME IND efforts
- Good written and oral communication, including timely electronic laboratory notebook entry
- Proven work ethic, competence, enthusiasm, independence, and team focus
Qualifications:
- Minimum of BA/BS with 10 years or MS with 8 years of analytical work in Pharma/Biotech
- LC-MS/MS
- Independence, awareness, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
- Scientific and technical knowledge around small molecule quantitative bioanalysis
- Strong knowledge of LC-MS/MS instrumentation, troubleshooting, method development, and quantitation
- Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Sciex QQQ or Shimadzu UPLC
- Knowledge of DMPK and relationships of in vitro and in vivo assays
- Non-compartmental PK modeling
- Report writing
- Process automation via software, robotics, or liquid handling
Salary Range:
$115,000 - 130,000 USD
