That’s why we’re seeking a Senior Clinical Scientist accountable for serving Cogstate's science function, primarily in support of Clinical Trials and Data & Scientific Services, with a particular focus on computerized testing and related products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary science lead on clinical trials supported by Cogstate, with a focus on cognitive testing and associated services.
- Liaise with sponsor contacts to address scientific questions, with a focus on empirical and objective data.
- Review clinical trial protocols and advise on (and develop specifications for) the configuration of Cogstate software to match study designs and scientific objectives.
- Understand and advise on cognitive outcome measures and cognitive tests.
- Participate in study methodology and new clinical trial software design.
- Interact with project management, statistics, data management, programming, and site services teams internally to support scientific processes and studies.
- Develop solutions to unique customer requests relating to topics such as stratification, inclusion, reliable change monitoring, data monitoring, normative data, and other cognitive testing applications.
- Review and monitor cognitive data for completion and performance.
- Study maintenance activities – answering internal staff and sponsor questions related to cognitive tests and data such as data monitoring findings, custom programming/statistical analysis, normative data, z-scores and computations.
- Analyze and interpret cognitive data from clinical trials and research studies.
- Write clinical study reports, statistical reports, central monitoring reports, white papers, and other analytic reports.
- Critically evaluate internal processes and scientific methodologies.
- Contribute to the development of processes, technology, and infrastructure which support the functions of scientific services and related operations.
- Oversee and provide higher-level support for device qualification and configuration activities to ensure adequate timing properties for Cogstate computerized tests.
- Oversight and implementation of data monitoring and rater training services.
- Develop rater training materials.
- Other responsibilities as required to support Data & Scientific Services.
- Configuration of Cogstate eSource Platform (CeP) builds per specifications, including but not limited to, battery design, EDC setup, edit checks, system query rules, etc.
- Testing of Cogstate eSource Platform (CeP) builds per departmental procedures
- Configuration and testing of Cogstate Review Application (CORA) builds per specifications to support central monitoring.
- Drive research and development of cognitive tests, including scientific publications.
Requirements
- Preferred qualifications include a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, behavioral science, or a related field. Candidates with a BA/BS and MA/MS will also be considered based on relevant experience.
- 5+ years of prior experience in industry or academic setting.
- Experience with data analysis, statistics, and scientific writing.
Skills, Knowledge and Specialist Expertise
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to successfully manage a full workload across multiple-projects with limited support.
- Excellent problem solving/decision making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional time and resource management.
- Analytic and statistical expertise, including proficiency with SAS, SPSS, R, or a similar statistical programming package.
- Evidence of a scientific track record of publications.
- Experience with cognition and/or neuropsychological testing a plus.

Wage Range
$115,000 - $135,000 USD
