Overview:

As a computational biologist on our team, you would execute end to end analyses that include data gathering, data analysis and management, processing and presentation of results. You will play a key role in development of the computational discovery analytical platforms toward identification of drug targets and novel biomarkers in oncology and/or immuno-oncology. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirements: Master’s in bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, Biological Sciences, Cancer Biology, Genetics, Genomics or related field (or foreign equivalent) with four (4) years of experience in bioinformatics support preferable in cancer immunology or related field
  • Special Requirements: Academic training or experience must include the following skills:
    • Proficiency in R is  required (experience in R/Shiny highly desirable)
    • Experienced with Python and Linux (highly preferred)
    • Fluency in Cloud computing; with basic system administration skills and working with vendor file transfers
    • Version control tools
    • Statistics and machine learning tools for analysis of NGS datasets including WES, RNAseq (bulk and single cell), bulk proteomic analysis.
  • Understanding of translational biomarker assays is strongly preferred

 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end multi-omic biomarker analyses that include data gathering, processing, analysis, iteration with stakeholders, and presentation of results
  • Conduct programmatic and reproducible quality control analysis of sequencing pipeline output metrics to confirm sample integrity for inclusion in downstream analysis and reporting
  • Prepare digital reports containing textual and graphical summaries of pertinent quality control metrics and machine learning classifier results
  • Use version control software and other collaboration tools to solicit feedback from teammates and iteratively improve analysis and reporting code
  • Contribute to cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams including data engineering, software engineering, clinical, laboratory operations, research, and product development
  • Support establishment of biomarkers and sample/data management dashboard for Immuno-oncology clinical biomarker studies
  • Coordinate with laboratory and data engineering personnel to ensure timely handoff and processing of samples per a defined manifest and statement of work
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and other internal research and development tasks to inform potential enhancements to the company's product offerings or clinical collaborations
  • Create and communicate rigorous scientific analyses
  • Prepare high-quality slide decks that include agreed-upon analysis deliverables and quality control overview in addition to supplementary findings of interest to research collaborators
  • Deliver presentation content to an internal audience for feedback and iteration before delivery to external partners

The Base Salary Range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000 Coherus considers various factors, including professional background and work experience, when determining base pay. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
