The Opportunity 

About the Role & Consensus

Held since 2015, Consensus is the only festival showcasing and celebrating all sides of the blockchain, crypto, and Web 3 ecosystems, and their wide-reaching effect on commerce, culture, and communities. Each year, Consensus brings tens of thousands of attendees together to hear from sought-after thought leaders and experience a wide range of discussions, meetings, parties, music performances, dinners, experiences, and much more. In 2025, we will launch Consensus Hong Kong & Consensus Toronto

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing & executing against engaging marketing strategies for each Consensus event as well as our award-winning Media products; Coindesk.com, CoinDesk studios, etc. The ideal candidate will have experience in event marketing and media with an understanding of the Crypto & Web3 ecosystems with the ability to ensure the campaign messaging & positioning not only resonates with our target audiences and translates into impactful results for our core lines of business.  

This role will be required to work onsite from our NYC Office based near Union Square. Required days per week is at the discretion of the hiring manager and may shift to more/less based on business needs.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Execute the overall event marketing strategy across digital, email, and print channels
  • Manage event website and enhance content to drive website traffic
  • Secure, manage and help to execute on media partnerships 
  • Oversee social media campaigns and online community management leading up to the event; 100+ posts on average per month.
  • Manage the paid media campaign agency and track results. 
  • Create post-event recap, measurement reporting, and recommendations for the following year.
  • Manage in-house ad campaigns.
  • Leverage competitive analyses to uncover differentiators and translate into outbound competitive tactics.
  • Work with our marketing and sales teams to create programs that attract leads, grow our pipeline, and increase revenue.
  • Actively collect and use feedback to improve our products and market strategies

What You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in media and/or event marketing; experience in the crypto/web3 industry is highly desired.
  • Direct experience operating as a full-stack marketer, leading cross-functional initiatives from ideation to execution
  • Direct experience writing messaging, positioning and author on-brand end-user content
  • A data-driven approach to your work and the ability to champion the customer and experience in shaping customer insights and research 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of marketing channel strategy: website (CRO), marketing automation, SEO, PPC, etc.
  • Creative and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proficiency in email marketing tools, and Google Workspace, or similar. 
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual proficiency in English is required.
  • Full professional proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong and China markets is a plus.

CoinDesk Inc and CoinDesk Indices Inc. are committed to offering competitive compensation and benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $110,000 - $140,000 + discretionary annual target bonus + benefits. Offered salary may vary based on geographic location, including city and state, and will be reflective of job-related knowledge, skills and commensurate experience.
