YOUR PURPOSE

Coin Metrics is seeking  an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team to assist in developing our product offerings. This person will serve as a vital member of the engineering staff and work to build reliable software architecture solutions to be used across the organization. The Platform team owns the common components needed for other teams to build their solutions as well as the API interface used to expose CM Products & data. An ideal candidate has a deep knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java and is also experienced with diagnosing and resolving issues related to memory allocation, high performance threading and coroutines.

YOUR VALUE

  • Building distributed, reliable, and performant software architectures using Kotlin.
  • Maintaining & developing our Python API Client and other Python system components.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new programming languages as needed
  • Leading the development of a new Coin Metrics' product that produces metrics and exposes them via API;
  • Working closely with network data and market data experts to build the product;
  • Depth testing of your code;
  • Developing our API;
  • Developing flat files offerings;
  • Developing various additional methods for delivering our data to clients; 
  • Working on special data delivery projects; 
  • Scaling and capacity planning.

YOUR EXPERTISE AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in a backend software engineering role or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin/Java (Kotlin preferred) specially in areas of memory allocation, high performance threading models and coroutines.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Proficiency in SQL (preferably PostgreSQL).
  • Understanding of how blockchains operate and their underlying data structures. 
  • Experience with Docker, GitLab CI, Gradle, Kubernetes, Ansible, Python, Grafana, Linux.
  • Strong sense of ownership, entrepreneurial spirit, and/or startup-like experience, capable of driving towards solutions independently while seeking feedback when appropriate.
  • Passionate about being a part of a decentralized financial services future with advanced  knowledge of cryptoassets and blockchain technology
