About the Production Team:
Collectively’s Production team is the strategic production arm of our client services practice, responsible for leading influencer marketing projects from kick off to completion with creativity, ingenuity, and exceptional project management skills. The team charter is flawless execution and exceptional client service and we pride ourselves on guiding our clients and influencers through each step of a project with strategic solutions along the way.
Responsibilities:
The Production Director is an experienced influencer marketer and people manager responsible for providing project leadership and management to a team of Associate Producers, Producers, and Senior Producers.
This role reports to a SVP of Production and will work closely with Director(s) of Production to manage the growth, structure, and performance of a multi-level production team of 8-12 direct reports, ensuring exceptional delivery across all projects.
Team Management & Leadership
- Directly manage a group of Associate Producers, Producers, and Senior Producers, with a focus on skill building, career development, mentorship, and coaching to support successful project and business outcomes as well as employee growth.
- Host 1:1s and team meetings to support individual and overall Production team success, developing structures and forums that promote strong team culture.
- Identify opportunities for teamwide learning and development, and help evangelize a culture of innovation and learning to ensure functional processes evolve to meet an ever-changing industry.
- Prepare and host annual review and check-in conversations for Production team members.
- Provide growth paths and clarity on the necessary skill development for team members’ career advancement.
- As-needed, develop and implement performance plans to address performance challenges.
- Ensure that team feedback, concerns, and questions are surfaced to Production VPs and Executives with thoughtful and strategic solutions for improved functional operations when warranted.
- Develop and maintain the systems, processes, and QA frameworks that set the standards and expectations for quality production deliverables. and make strong client-facing work possible
Project Oversight & Leadership
- Responsible for executional excellence, quality, and operational rigor of the team and serves as leadership support on a high volume of influencer marketing projects.
- Partners closely with Client Strategy Directors to assess team output and account risks, and optimize performance and processes to ensure smooth ongoing delivery of work.
- Leverage production acumen and leadership skills to provide strategic guidance, feedback, tactical advice, and crisis management best practices to direct reports, cross-functional team members, and clients.
- Ensure proper review of influencer lists, timelines, project plans, briefs, weekly reports, and communication to clients and influencers.
- Enable exceptional team output on every project by providing consistent coaching, training, and modeling of standards and expectations.
- Guide team on effective partnerships with 3rd party vendors, including video production, event production, musicians, artists, and other partners.
- Advise on influencer and agent negotiation, supporting our clients’ business goals while also respecting creators’ creative labor.
- Provide hands-on support to team members in resolving critical performance or resourcing gaps with both short- and long-term solutions.
- Stay informed on new client processes, tools, systems, and directives, and supports driving adoption and rollout across internal production teams.
Revenue Finance & Health
- Ensure team compliance with Production's financial tools and processes, including budget accountability, payments hygiene, budget utilization, and risk management.
- Maintain oversight of their team’s budgets across projects and ensure effective management, tracking, and utilization.
- Support Production Sr. Leadership and Finance & Operations on the rollout of new systems that impact the Production team, ensuring team training and adoption.
- Flag overages to Sr. Director(s) and SVP to navigate potential overages and develop them into opportunities for expanded program services or scope.
- Provide regular updates on budgets and COGS to the finance team.
Functional Support
- Through engaged and active leadership presence, help lay a foundation for the Production team by providing advocacy for our teams and enthusiasm for our function in team forums.
- Support Sr. Directors & SVPs in creating functional checklists, guides, training, and documentation.
- Consistently engage with the Director team on functional optimizations, leveraging feedback and learnings from active work to provide strategic ideas for best practices, processes, and team support.
- Independently develop new processes and roll them out, including gathering input from key stakeholders, researching, testing, documenting, and training.
- Support Sr. Directors and SVP to lead trainings, meetings, and brainstorms to discuss Production processes and ways of working
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years client-facing production or influencer marketing experience (in relevant marketing/advertising industry or similar)
- Minimum 3 years managing a 3+ person team
- Experiencing coaching employees to new positions and enacting performance improvement plans
- A track record of successful process development and rollouts for large teams/organizations (10+)
- Exceptional client services skills, including verbal, written and presentation communication abilities
- Exceptional organizational, project management and time management skills and an ability to manage multiple deadlines at once
- An ability and willingness to deeply understand the needs, motivations and aspirations of our clients and influencers and translate that understanding into impactful content
- Ability to work autonomously with little oversight, as well as strong ability to successfully work cross-functionally to ensure contributions from multiple stakeholders across disciplines are woven into the project work seamlessly
- Is a leader in modeling a positive, enthusiastic approach to work and collaboration

The pay range for this position is $150,000 – $170,000. Collectively takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
