About the Client Partnership Team

The Client Partnership team leads the strategic and relationship side of our influencer marketing services agency throughout the lifecycle of an account at Collectively–ensuring our partnership with clients is successful, industry-leading and directly in support of our client’s creator marketing ambitions.

This team is focused on cultivating and growing successful relationships with account stakeholders in our client community through best-in-class work and services–delivering strategic influencer marketing proposals/RFPs, industry-leading thought partnership and ongoing strategic direction throughout the lifecycle of our agency/client partnership to support brands in becoming more effective, innovative creator-centric marketers.

This role is directly responsible for the servicing and performance outcomes for a set of individual accounts. The Director is responsible for overseeing and directing the work of CP staff across core workflows, as well as directing and facilitating effective and successful cross-functional collaboration and agency servicing experience throughout the client journey.

Responsibilities

The Account + Strategy Director is a leadership role responsible for at least one and up to several client accounts (average 1-3 direct reports) and is responsible for retaining (on average) at least $5MM in revenue annually, depending on the client ecosystem.

The Strategy & Account Director will report to a business leader (VP or SVP) and is responsible for three key areas of work: 

Client Relationships & Partnership 

  • Leads and directs the client relationship management day to day and sets the tone for client services success on your accounts–balancing both the staff experience and the client perspective
  • Leads and directs the application of our influencer marketing services and solutions for senior marketers, helping provide ongoing expertise and thought-leadership, pushing clients to see broader roles for creator marketing within their marketing plans, and supporting longer-term planning with clients that reinforces Collectively unique value proposition as a specialized influencer/creator agency
  • Strategic client partner and conflict manager capable of translating client servicing needs into successfully sold through influencer strategies and scopes that our internal teams are capable of delivering
  • Building client confidence in the agency, earning trust, and leading challenging client conversations diplomatically
  • Provide day-to-day client services leadership as a direct point of contact for senior clients, leaning in to expedite solutions and align on mutual ways of working around timelines and expectation management, in line with our servicing philosophy and code.
  • Escalate client relationship challenges to business leadership, sets context and collaborates on solutions

Team Management & Mentorship

  • Facilitate and support direct reports (Client Partnerships team) and dotted line staff (Production, Analytics, Creative) to be successful in their roles, delivering account strategy & services, focusing on staff retention and supporting skill growth
  • Accountable for core deliverables, this role actively plans, guides, and provides feedback to consistently help the team meet or raise the bar on quality. (Directly accountable for: proposals, QBRs, performance reports, and POVs. Indirectly accountable for production-led deliverables: creator lists, briefs, and content.)
  • Directs & leads team inputs and success on tasks across operational workflows (contracting, budgets, staff plans, hours tracking)
  • Synthesizes challenges or themes across accounts and proactively engages with functional leadership to evolve or pivot
  • Leads and sets tone for cross-functional teams–an internal champion and client champion who often bridges the two groups
  • Coach and support the CP and cross-functional teams through stickier or trickier situations, helping them build the judgment and confidence to navigate complex client dynamics independently; model our servicing philosophy and code, and mentor team members on how to manage timelines and expectations with senior clients.
  • Consult into Client Partnerships functional philosophies, best practices, processes, deliverables and tools, as led by our CEO/ Head of Client Partnerships or VPs
  • Consult on resourcing, hiring and team and prioritizations

Account Strategy + Creator Marketing Services Evolution

  • Set the account partnership and influencer programming strategies including client satisfaction planning, growth opportunities, “land & expand” strategies and day to day campaign success
  • Manage and support direct reports in the successful creation, production and timely delivery of successful RFPs, Briefs, incremental opportunities, wrap reports and/or other key client partnership deliverables throughout the course of the client journey–in line with client expectations
  • Proactively seeks out and guides the team to develop unique, innovative and boundary-pushing opportunities for client partners
  • Review & refine client communications, POVs, or deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and are winning in market (retaining/improving as the space shifts)
  • Collaborate closely with Production and Performance & Analytics leadership colleagues to inform, iterate, and improve service offerings and processes
  • Collaborate closely with business leadership and delivery leadership, including the CEO and COO, to improve overall account profitability strategies and to iterate on service models that best support client needs and expectations of day-to-day cross-functional account team operations

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of related experience in a client-facing role at a social or influencer agency, with at least 4 years in a people management role
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex partnerships and navigate challenging client services situations with maturity and leadership
  • Significant client-facing experience with senior-level, Fortune 500 marketers
  • Demonstrated success as a people manager and team builder with diplomacy and collaborative approach to cross-functional team directing/leading
  • Demonstrated success growing and retaining seven-figure, multi-year client accounts and relationships
  • Demonstrated organic social media, paid social, and influencer marketing strategy expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to manage through significant ambiguity and change
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail and excellent follow-through
  • Exceptional communication skills—both internally and externally, written and verbal
  • Ability to work efficiently across a variety of tasks and manage time appropriately for projects
  • At home in a rapidly changing, fast-paced working environment; thrives on change.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $150,000 to $165,000. Collectively takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.
