Collegium Pharmaceutical is building a leading, diversified biopharmaceutical company committed to improving the lives of people living with serious medical conditions. We have a leading portfolio of responsible pain management and neuropsychiatry medications.
Hybrid: Required to be onsite in Stoughton, MA on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President, Commercial Development will play a leadership role on the Corporate Development team. This role is accountable to develop and implement commercialization strategies for current and potential assets that are aligned with our corporate strategy. Leads the operational activities of the department and ensures that performed tasks comply with corporate development and Collegium policies, best industry standards and applicable regulations. They will lead commercial development activities including disease area strategies, commercial deal support, and life cycle management. They will also collaborate cross-functionally with other Collegium functional leads and teams, external partners including investment bankers and management consultants to achieve Corporate Development and organization goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify, research, and analyze the commercial opportunity of potential acquisitions, joint ventures, in-licensing and other strategic growth opportunities, including developing a perspective on the scientific opportunity
- Deliver on our strategic objectives, including the optimization of our existing assets and the identification and valuation of future commercial opportunities
- Proactively analyze industry dynamics and the competitive landscape for current therapeutic areas and those of strategic interest
- Participate in sourcing and screening activities, including ongoing asset scans and identification of carve-out opportunities
- Creation of commercial forecast models for potential deals
- Manage the commercial diligence process, working collaboratively with Commercial and Medical Affairs
- Proactively develop disease area strategies
- Provide commercial leadership for pre-launch assets
- Lead lifecycle management assessment, including creating business cases with input from Commercial, Medical and Finance
- Build and manage relationships with external partners, specifically industry peers
- Maintain a network of business development advisors
- Work closely and collaboratively across the organization
- Work closely and collaboratively with executive leadership and the Board of Directors

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Science or a technical field; MBA preferred
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience in Commercial Development, Competitive Intelligence, and/or Business Development within the biopharmaceutical industry
- Demonstrated experience creating commercial deal assessments, including forecasting, market research and lifecycle management
- Demonstrated ability to create scientific assessments of opportunities, in partnership with internal and external experts
- Demonstrated leadership ability with proven track record driving commercial expansions
- Depth of knowledge in relevant therapeutic areas, including understanding of innovation, access dynamics and competitive landscape
- Demonstrated leadership of pre-launch assets and launch planning
- Experience negotiating and managing alliance and partnerships
- Demonstrated commitment to seeking and supporting diverse perspectives and backgrounds in the workplace
- Ability to understand organization goals and proactively identify inorganic opportunities to meet them
- Experience and demonstrated aptitude managing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to interact with senior executives and handle high pressure settings with confidence

Pay Range
$300,450 - $336,805 USD
