Role Overview

The Account Development Representative drives top of funnel pipeline growth through a combination of inbound lead qualification and outbound prospecting. This role engages prospective customers, qualifies opportunities, and partners closely with Sales and Marketing to convert interest into qualified pipeline. The position also supports account research, outreach execution, CRM data management, and overall sales development operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to build a career in enterprise sales, business development, or commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and qualify inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns, website inquiries, events, and other channels.
  • Conduct outbound prospecting efforts using email, phone, LinkedIn, and other engagement tools to identify and connect with prospective customers.
  • Evaluate and qualify target accounts, key stakeholders, industry trends, and business initiatives to develop effective outreach strategies.
  • Conduct targeted email outreach to prospective customers, gathering information on business requirements and technical needs
  • Schedule and coordinate introductory meetings between qualified prospects and account executives.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing teams to execute account-based outreach campaigns and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospect interactions, activities, opportunities, and account information within the CRM.
  • Utilize sales engagement and prospecting tools to improve productivity and outreach effectiveness.
  • Track performance metrics and contribute to pipeline growth goals through consistent activity and lead conversion.

 

Required Experience

  • 1–2 years of professional experience in sales operations, marketing operations, coordination, CRM support, or a similar systems-heavy role.
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce.com, Hubspot, or another CRM preferred (but not required if highly tech-savvy).
  • Experience working with data, spreadsheets, or reporting tools.
  • Exposure to marketing or sales processes is a plus (internships count).

  • Respond inbound leads quickly and ensure accurate qualification and documentation.
  • Execute targeted outreach to priority accounts using research and engagement signals.
  • Consistently qualify leads and maintain complete, accurate Salesforce records.
  • Deliver well-qualified opportunities to Sales with clear requirements and next steps.
  • Maintain engagement with early-stage and recycled prospects through ongoing nurture efforts.
  • Ensure strong CRM data hygiene and effective use of sales and marketing technology.
  • Leadership can see which sources, accounts, and activities create engagement, qualified pipeline, and future demand.
