The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and operational Senior Vice President of Marketing to lead our overall marketing efforts and build a product marketing function for CommerceIQ. This senior leadership role is critical in driving our growth strategy, brand positioning, and market presence grounded in product marketing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SaaS product marketing and digital commerce, with a proven track record of leading successful marketing teams and campaigns. This is a unique opportunity in that with product marketing being a new function for the company, you will also be able to build a team around yourself in time.

This role will be based out of our Bay Area headquarters, reporting directly to our CEO and Founder.

 

What You'll Do:

  1.  Product Marketing Expertise

    • GTM Planning: Ability to develop and implement comprehensive GTM strategies(positioning, packaging, messaging etc.)  that align with the CommerceIQ’s goals and objectives.
    • Partner with product management to develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches and feature releases - including packaging approach etc.
    • Effectively communicate product value propositions and differentiate CommerceIQ in the market. 
    • Competitive Analysis: Ability to analyze market trends and competitors to position the company's products effectively and provide appropriate tools for customer facing teams to handle objection handling and positioning.
    • Analyst relationship management from strategy establishment to Analyst engagement to deliver market leading positioning. 

    2. Content Leadership

    • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, opportunities, and threats.
    • Leverage insights to inform content strategies and deliver content that ensure CommerceIQ remains ahead of industry trends.
    • Amplification of content to improve market leadership and growth through social, webinars, events. 

    3. Customer Focus and Retention

    • Customer Journey Mapping: Understanding of the customer lifecycle and ability to create marketing strategies to understand and enhance the customer experience - e.g. NPS, case studies, education, advisory boards etc.
    • Retention programs: Experience with data driven customer analysis to drive marketing techniques to engage and retain customers.

    4. Data-Driven Decision Making

    • Analytics: Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate insights, and optimize marketing campaigns based on gap to plan approach.
    • ROI Measurement: Ability to measure and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and their return on investment (ROI).

    5. Collaboration and Communication

    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other departments, such as sales, product development, and customer success, to achieve common goals.
    • Communication: Excellent communication skills to articulate marketing strategies and results to stakeholders at all levels to build and maintain confidence.
    • Manage public relations efforts, including media relations, analyst relations, press releases, and thought leadership initiatives.

    6. Financial Acumen

    • Budget Management: Experience in managing marketing budgets and making cost-effective decisions in venture funded companies.
    • Financial Understanding: Understanding of financial principles and how marketing activities impact the company’s bottom line.

    7. Leadership Qualities

    • Visionary Leadership: Inspiring and motivating the marketing team to achieve ambitious goals.
    • Bias to action: Upholding high standards of execution and agility

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Ideally 10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 7 years in a leadership role within the SaaS or digital commerce industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive growth and brand recognition.
  • Strong understanding of digital commerce and the unique challenges and opportunities it presents.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation tools, CRM software, and analytics platforms.

 

Compensation and Benefits: 

The typical base pay range for this role across the US is USD: $225,000 - $310,000/per year.    

This base pay range may be inclusive of several career levels at CommerceIQ and will be narrowed based on a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.  

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at CommerceIQ. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock options, as well as potential discretionary bonuses. You will also receive access to:
