The Role:

As a Technical Architect you will be responsible for tech architecture of our platform and its product lines. You will be expected to mentor a team of high performing individual contributors that embody our leadership principles. You will own high quality delivery of product development, driving innovation and engineering excellence across your teams. 

In this role, you will lead and mentor a cross-functional team of Principal Engineers, Software Engineers, and Software Engineers in Test. As a leader, you will play a crucial role in building the culture, motivating the team and bringing the best practices across all of these functional areas to ensure that the software we build and the technical processes we implement are quantifiable with respect to quality and always deliver the best for our customers.

The successful candidate will be passionate about building a scalable architecture, drive engineering excellence, be obsessed with innovation, relentlessly raise the bar on the quality of what we deliver and influence and drive a high-level tech strategy with leadership, as well as take a hands-on approach to implementing org-wide strategy.

Our product suite covers the entire lifecycle of e-commerce optimization including CommerceIQ Sales, Advertising, Digital Shelf Optimization (DSO) and other upcoming products. This role will have you lead and be responsible for the architecture of our product suite, driving a profound impact on how consumer brands sell and optimize their e-commerce presence and help drive millions of dollars in ROI. Location / Travel:

This is an onsite role based out of our Mountain View, CA headquarters. You will be expected to work onsite 5 days per week if hired.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Hands-on technical leader accountable for a large portion of organisation architecture, which includes ownership of the design and quality of software built by at least 3 development teams.
  • Segments an architecture to be developed by different teams.
  • Works strategically, evaluates industry approaches for use internally, leads design reviews, builds consensus, aligns teams toward coherent architectural strategies, and drives clarity.
  • Sets the technical strategy and standard for engineering excellence within your organization.
  • Mentor and guide the engineering team on engineering excellence best practices and own architecting our services for scale.
  • Drive innovation within the team to bring engineering driven products that creates differentiators for us in the market.
  • Works on high impact, critical, or strategically important initiatives.
  • Mitigates risks caused by complexity (deconstructs problems and systems into straight forward solutions); handles most escalations.
  • Determines where their own and other resources are best applied to accomplish goals.
  • Actively works to remove bottlenecks and establishes mechanisms for auditing.
  • Works with the executive leadership team to create a forward looking and ambitious tech strategy and influence product and business strategy.
  • Owns and delivers the organizational tech strategy as per plan.

 

What You'll Bring:

  • 15+ years’ experience in building, delivering and scaling high quality cloud-based software products.
  • Experience managing multiple teams, including principal level engineers.
  • Demonstrated experience building enterprise SaaS or B2C applications on cloud using enterprise Java and UI (react / vue / js / node) stack that have scaled is a must.
  • Strong analytical and strategic problem solving skills - exhibited throughout your career.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.
  • Strong business and technical vision.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field is required.

 

Benefits & Perks: 

The typical base pay range for this role in Mountain View, CA is USD: $242,000 - $273,000/per year.    

This base pay range may be inclusive of several career levels at CommerceIQ and will be narrowed based on a number of factors including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location.  

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at CommerceIQ. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock options, as well as potential discretionary bonuses. You will also receive access to:
