The role

As a senior technical program manager (STPM), you’ll lead our most complex, cross-team and cross-geography programs, such as cloud cost optimization, platform migrations, and large multi-team launches. You’ll turn ambiguity into clear plans, keep every team aligned on what matters, and give senior leadership an honest, current view of progress, risks, and trade-offs.

You’ll also be the bridge between executive leadership and engineering. You’ll translate business priorities into engineering plans, and translate technical reality into decisions leaders can act on. You won’t manage the engineers, but you’ll earn their trust and drive results through influence.

What you’ll do

  • Lead complex programs end to end. Own programs that span multiple engineering, product, data, and finance teams across time zones, from scoping and planning through launch and post-launch review.
  • Coordinate product and engineering roadmaps. Align product and engineering roadmaps across teams and regions. Reconcile priorities, capacity, and dependencies, keep one integrated view of what ships when, and flag trade-offs early so leadership can make informed calls.
  • Drive cost and efficiency initiatives. Partner with engineering and finance to analyze cloud and infrastructure spend, identify savings, set targets, and track delivery against them.
  • Keep leadership informed. Run regular program reviews and steering committees. Write concise executive updates covering status, milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions needed, and business impact.
  • Bridge executives and engineering. Translate strategy and customer priorities into technical roadmaps and milestones, and explain technical constraints and trade-offs in plain business terms.
  • Manage dependencies and risk. Surface cross-team dependencies early, own the critical path, escalate with clear options and recommendations, and keep the plan honest.
  • Define and track metrics. Set KPIs, SLAs, and success criteria for each program, and report results with data that leaders can trust.
  • Build repeatable ways of working. Improve planning, intake, prioritization, and delivery processes across engineering. Standardize the practices that work.
  • Raise the bar. Mentor program managers and engineering leads, and share best practices across the organization.

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering management, or a closely related role, including 5+ years leading cross-functional programs with software engineering teams.
  • A track record of delivering large, multi-team programs across geographies, with measurable outcomes in scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Strong technical depth. You can discuss architecture, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and CI/CD with engineers and spot risk before it becomes a delay.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. You’ve presented to VP and C-level audiences and can turn complex detail into a clear story and a clear ask.
  • Experience leading cost reduction or efficiency programs, including cloud spend (FinOps), vendor contracts, or resource optimization.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority, resolve conflict, and make decisions with incomplete information.
  • Comfort with program tooling (Jira, Confluence, or similar) and with building dashboards and reports from engineering and financial data.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

  • Background as a software engineer or technical lead.
  • Experience at a SaaS, ecommerce, or data and AI company operating at scale.
  • Experience with generative AI or agentic AI product development.

How we’ll measure success

  • Programs deliver on agreed scope, timeline, and budget, with risks raised early.
  • Cost and efficiency targets are met and tracked transparently.
  • Leadership has a current, accurate view of program status and the decisions needed.
