Electrical QA/QC Inspector

The QA/QC Inspector is a detail-oriented team player who ensures the quality and safety of the electrical products and services installed and/or provided by the field team, adhering to industry standards and company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Implement and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with national and international electrical standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of materials, components, and finished products to verify adherence to specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and non-conformance reports. Prepare comprehensive reports for management review.
- Perform tests on electrical components and systems, documenting results and identifying discrepancies.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and project management teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Assist in training staff on quality control processes and best practices.
- Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and recommend process enhancements.
- Critical Infrastructure Testing- validate redundancy systems (UPS, generators, switchgear) and verifying electrical reliability for data centers, hospitals, and other mission critical facilities.
- assisting in commissioning activities and ensuring documentation aligns with client turnover requirements (as-built verification, redline drawings, O&M manuals).
- Prepare client-ready inspection reports and participating in owner/GC quality meetings, especially on mission critical projects.
- oversight of lockout/tagout, arc flash boundaries, and safe work practices in high-voltage and mission critical environments.
- perform investigations of failures or near misses to identify and implement corrective actions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards and regulations.
- Proficiency in inspection tools and testing equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
- NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA standards, and (if applicable) IEEE/IEC standards commonly required on industrial sites.
- Strong proficiency in digital QA/QC platforms or software (e.g., Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam) for reporting, punch lists, and inspections.
Leadership & Training
- Mentorship: Expand on “develop crew” by including mentoring apprentices and journeymen on quality and safety standards in complex/critical environments.
- Continuous Improvement: Explicitly state participation in lessons learned sessions across projects to feed back into company best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in QA/QC role within the electrical industry.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are a plus.

- Specialized Certifications: Consider listing credentials that add weight for mission critical/industrial work:
- NICET in Electrical Testing
- NETA certification
- NFPA 70E Training
- OSHA 30
- LEED/AP or commissioning-related certifications (if sustainability is relevant)
- Experience: Increase baseline requirement from just QA/QC exposure to experience on industrial, mission critical, or large-scale commercial electrical projects.
Soft Skills
- Stronger emphasis on:
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict commissioning timelines.
- Coordination with general contractors, owners, and third-party commissioning agents.
- Flexibility for night/weekend work typical of cutovers or critical system tie-ins.
