What You’ll Do 

Flatiron seeks a Software Engineer at its New York, New York location.

 

Apply software engineering principles to design and maintain software, and write code that drives new features and improvements across Flatiron’s technology platform that provides realworld clinical data collected from the electronic health records (EHRs) used by cancer care providers.  Build new and improved software for improved clinician workflows. Upgrade software technical infrastructure to increase stability and performance of Electronic Health Records. Ensure Electronic Health Record software compliance by updating clinical data and codesets commensurate with federal guidelines and regulations. Enhance real-world data products by delivering new or improved data points about cancer patients within our network. Promote and iterate on technical best practices. Own the design, implementation, and cross-functional negotiation of features within an existing product or pipeline. Contribute to a high-performance SCRUM team’s processes and standards, and partake in planning, estimation, retrospectives and demos. Produce Python and JavaScript code in Visual Studio and IntelliJ for web service and database application layers, driving new features and improvements across our products. Own application support for a high availability production system, triage incidents, investigate complex incidents and identify their root causes. Develop expertise in the complex healthcare and oncology product domain space. Telecommuting is permitted full-time from anywhere in the US.

 

Who You Are 

The position requires the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer, Electronics Engineer, Software Analyst, or related position
  • Position requires 1 year of experience in all of the following skills:
    • Implementing webservers in Python;
    • Implementing client-side applications using JavaScript, Typescript, ReactJS, and CSS/SCSS,
    • SQL;
    • Redis;
    • Git;
    • AWS EC2, S3, Elasticache, or ALB;
    • Infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
  • Telecommuting is permitted full-time from anywhere in the US.

Job Compensation Range

  • Salary Range: $164,320 - $194,400
  • Preferred primary location: NYC

The annual pay range for this position is based on the preferred primary location of the role which is listed above. If you are applying to this role at a location that is not the preferred primary location, please keep in mind the salary range will vary and may fall outside of what is listed. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. An annual bonus and equity may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
